How to get a pool type lounge chair on balcony

Getting ready to book our next cruise. Can anyone tell me how to get a guaranteed pool type lounge chair on our balcony? Do all aft balconies have a lounge chair? We spend most of our time on our balcony and we want shade and at least one lounge chair due to husband's back and hip issues.

Anyone?

Tia.

The L-shaped balcony cabins on the Conquest and Dream class ships have larger balconies, and each one that we have booked have had the full size lounger on the larger balcony. The other bonus is that these cabins are 8A's and to me, their aft location makes them a great bargain.

Can we just pick one up and take it to our non-aft, non-extended balcony? I am very serious. We have always wanted a lounger on our regular balcony, but never drug one up there. I HAVE seen other people with them, though. Anyway, the cabin steward should be able to get one for you.

I'd suggest getting an Aft Wrap / Vista Suite for the best chance of getting a lounge chair AND shade.

We had an aft wrap for a B2B on the Dream with a 36' wrap-around balcony and had two lounge chairs, two normal chairs and a table, plus shade and privacy on the side portion of the balcony.

The Aft only cabins can be very, very hot with no shade, offer zero privacy and occasionally get litter from the decks above. I'm surprised that they can charge a premium for them....

Not sure there is enough room on a traditional balcony. Or it would be quite tight with a lounger. We had a lounger on our bowling alley balconies on Miracle and Legend.

I highly doubt it would fit on a traditional balcony!!

If you want shade, then your best bet is a cove balcony on one of the Dream class ships. They don't have true lounge chairs, but ours had one chair that had a back that did go down. I used that along with putting my feet up on the little table when I wanted to lie out on our balcony.

Hi MarriedAtSea :)

During our last voyage aboard the Breeze, 14-day B2B, my wife & I had a standard size balcony. It was not an issue at all when we asked our cabin steward to replace one of our chairs with a lounger.

Have a terrific sailing!

Thank you. We have done that too with a $50 tip in hand. I was just wondering if it could be guaranteed by paying more for a specific cabin so that I don't have to worry about it?

ohiowilly has the best answer. These L-shapes have a table, two chairs, and lounger. Rooms tend to be slightly bigger but oddly shaped. Usually a queen bed that cannot be separated into twins. The balconies are twice the size and comparable to the size of a suite balcony.

On Destinty/Conquest class ships there are four L-shapes on Deck 6 that are category 8A and two on Deck 7 that are 8B.

We were in 7419 on the Triumph in 2014 and have booked 7439 on the Freedom in January. I'd pick a cruise simply based upon their availability. I can't believe Carnival doesn't charge more for them.

All a matter of opinion/experience. We prefer sun over shade on our balcony since we want to tan, privacy doesn't bother us (not many people were looking down from Lido anyways), and we'd never seen one piece of litter. This is my experience from two aft wrap cabins. We paid a premium both times and found it was worth every penny for the extra space we had. Even hosted a sail away party for our entire group on the balcony the last time we did one!
