Patiently waiting for the dailies and photos.:o

I'm with you. One thing I can say is that it keeps me coming back to the thread.

I don't think the other thread about the Getaway where they were going to post the dailies ever got posted did they?

I know the OP from that thread was sick though. Hope she is feeling better.

enjoying your review. we are sailing her in 75 days and staying in the cabin beside you-9734. did you feel a lot of movement? dh and dd are prone to seasickness. also, do you remember seeing if they have 2 loungers and 2 chairs in the balcony, since it is a B6?

i see that you're a fellow canuck. did you book in cdn$$? did you use the casino to cash out unused obc, if you bought any. and if you did, was it easy to do? sorry for all the questions...

I'll be in 9734 in two weeks...if you wait for my review, I can let you know!![emoji6]

I thought about heading over to the roll call boards and asking the next group to please share when they get back, that's how obsessed I am. I check first thing in the morning and last thing at night, plus numerous times during the day (while at work ;))

I promise the dailies are coming tonight! I had an emergency dental appointment last night (yuck) so I was a little out of it all night.

They are sitting on my laptop ready to be posted and I have blocked off my evening tonight! :)

I know from experience that when my teeth hurt everything hurts and it is impossible to focus on anything....

Day 3 - Sea Day

Today was our first sea day so we slept in a little longer than usual. We had a nice breakfast at Flamingo Grill and BF got a made to order omelette which he enjoyed. I liked the look of the Flamingo Grill and I think we will end up back there for another breakfast.

We headed up the highest sundeck at the front of the deck and grabbed a few drinks. I tried a Passionate Kiss and it was delicious. It was really windy up at the top so we tried to move a few times to a better spot but the wind was pretty strong.

For lunch we checked out the menu at MDRs but it's the same every day and there was only one option for me to eat as a vegetarian, which I had on Embarkation Day. I was kind of disappointed that my options were so limited. I was also disappointed to find out that all soups are made with chicken or beef stock, so even a classic tomato soup isn't actually something I can eat as a vegetarian.

We ended up just getting a little snack at the Garden Cafe and then came to lounge on our balcony for a while. We went back to the pool deck for the Mr. Sexy Legs competition and it was quite entertaining. Some men were hilarious and others were super shy and awkward. BF wasn't sure about it to start but as the show went on he was laughing out loud and was glad we went up to watch.

After watching the competition we tried a mojito at Sugarcane and spent some time (and money) in the casino. We went to Savor for dinner and BF really liked his Striploin Steak Roast. He gave it a 9/10. I had zucchini pomodor and it was pretty good but had way too much cheese on it. We tried the warm chocolate lava cake for dessert and it was really delicious. I would give that a 10/10 on its own!

After dinner we walked around and took a few photos before going to the theatre for Burn The Floor. The Latin dance show was full of energy and sparkly costumes which I love. BF wasn't super into it but he did say it was a good show and the dancers were really good. I liked it and I enjoyed seeing the different dances. I used to ballroom dance myself so watching this show brought back some memories and I liked it even more.

After the show we walked out to the deck and were surprised at how hot and humid it was. We were melting out there and it was 9pm! We wandered up to the mini golf area and it was empty so we decided to play a round. The holes are pretty neat and have interesting tricks to them. Some have hills to make them tricky and some have gimmicks like plinko pegs and other obstacles. We both did terribly but it was fun to be up in the deck alone with everything lit up. if you do have some time I would recommend playing a round of mini golf with kids or adults, it was really fun and crazy to be doing that on a moving ship!

We grabbed a crepe at the Garden Cafe before we went back to our room. That was a yummy bedtime snack and I was glad we found them since yesterday they seemed to be closed early.

Exactly! I couldn't even look at a screen all night. I'm recovered now and have set an alarm on my phone to remind me as soon as I get home from work to grab my laptop and upload the dailies! :)

I just posted my 7 dailies on another thread. I don't know if I am allowed to link to it so I won't, but it you use my name you can find it easily!

I didn't want to throw in a bunch of daily photos in between my daily reviews so they are a separate thread. :)

Day 4 - Ocho Rios Jamaica

Today we landed in Jamaica and woke up to a view of the port outside our balcony. We got our stuff together and went to Taste for a sit down breakfast. We had pastries, coffee, fruit, and made to order eggs/omelettes. It was pretty yummy and we were both pleased with our food. An older couple saw us in the hall and stopped us thinking we were from Burn The Floor last night and BF thought it was funny to be mistaken for the professional dancers. He actually did look a little like one so I could see how they were mistaken.

After breakfast we walked off the boat and headed into the port shopping area. The stores all looked pretty similar and the people were quite pushy about selling things so we didn't stay long in the shopping part. We went to Margaritaville and got two lounge chairs near the water. We spent about two hours tanning and swimming in the water. The sun was out and it was super hot for so early in the morning. There were lots of options for things to do like boat tours, tubing, water toys, and more but we took it easy and lounged for the morning.

Around 1pm we started making our way back to the ship for some lunch and we ended up getting snacks at the Garden Cafe. The pool decks were nearly empty and it seemed much sunnier on the ship so we decided to stay on board. We got some drinks at Spice H2O and tanned for a while there. I tried the Daydreamer's Daquiri and it was really good! That turned into my go-to drink for the rest of the week. I also liked the rainfall area in Spice and it was a nice spot to cool down.

After about two hours in Spice we walked around the main pool deck. We spent a little while in an empty hot tub and tried the red and yellow slides. I'm way more intimidated by the free fall slides than I thought I would be. They look much scarier in person and I really think I would be the person who gets stuck going around the bend.

Around 3pm we came back to the took to shower and get refreshed. We headed to O'Sheehans for a late lunch of spinach dip and mozzarella sticks to share, chicken wings for BF (which he really enjoyed!), and salad for me. We sat there for a while and had a drink and then headed to the Waterfront wraparound on deck 8 to take w few more photos before we left Jamaica. We also stopped by Sugarcane to try a mojito. The raspberry guava one was good and so was the pineapple coconut one but the plain coconut one was too bitter for me. We took our drinks back to our balcony to watch the boat sail away.

I had heard about watching runners on the pier so I kept my eye out for those but didn't see any. I did see a crew member wheel out luggage to the pier and take it all the way from the ship to the port office. It was actually so sad to watch that and I felt terrible for the one person who missed the ship. I can't imagine how they must feel but I kept thinking about how late they really would be. If they had an emergency and were hours late that's understandable but if they were only minutes too late they must be kicking themselves.

We played two games of shuffleboard before heading to dinner at the Tropicana Room and I am pretty sure we played it entirely wrong. It was fun to try and I would like to try again with the actual rules.

For dinner at the Tropicana Room I had the asparagus and artichoke risotto and it was really delicious. I liked it a lot and even though it was listed as an app I had it for my meal. I would give that dish alone a 9/10 and combined with the chocolate lava volcano cake for dessert it was a great dinner for me. BF had the roasted chicken breast with mashed potatoes and broccoli and gave it an 9/10. He ate that dinner twice on the ship and loved it both times.

After dinner we walked around a few decks and checked out our photos in the carousel. I have a bit of a problem with the photo situation since it seems like a massive waste of paper to print all of them and let them sit in the binders all week. If the people don't purchase them, like we didn't, then it's a waste of printing all those photos. I feel bad for the trees it is using. We checked the jewelry shops to browse but everything was super fancy looking so we just browsed and got another drink to take back to our room.

We were also on this cruise. I loved the chocolate lava cake and had it 3 times... first night... last night... and a night somewhere in between. :D I must say, that they have improved their chocolate desserts since our sailing on the Epic a few years ago. Enjoyed this cruise very much also.

Day 5 - Georgetown, Grand Caymen

Today we anchored just off the coast of Georgetown, Grand Caymen. We got ourselves ready and had breakfast at the Flamingo Grill. We headed to the theatre to wait for our tender group and were on the island by 9:30. We walked around the port shopping areas and checked out some neat little stores. We started walking toward the famous Seven Mile beach and must have walked close to that distance ourselves because we could not find the beach access. Everything was private villas and hotels on the beach but no public access. Finally we found a place called the Royal Palms. Entrance was $2 per person and there was a pool, bar, beach access, showers, and a restaurant inside the gates. We grabbed a drink at the bar and then found a spot on the beach. Chairs were $10 to rent but we just used our towels. We spent about two hours there in the water and tanning on the beach. It was so nice on the beach and the water was bright and clear. It was gorgeous to look at and it wasn't super crowded.

Just before 1pm we took a taxi back to port shopping and that was $4 per person so it was very worth it. We stopped by a few more shops once we got back and I bought a colour changing nail polish at Del Sol. We went back to the tender area and were greeted with a refreshing cold cloth and water as we got on the tender boat. We were back on the Getaway just before 2pm and spent some time in our room getting showered and ready for the afternoon.

We went for a late lunch at the Garden Cafe and had the cheesecake brownie at O'Sheehan's for dessert. We walked around the ship a little and then came back to the room for a catnap before our evening plans.

We slept through our usual dinner time so we got a quick drink and snack at O'Sheehan's before heading to our reservation at Legally Blonde. We got great seats right in the second row and it was a really fun show. I didn't really know what to expect from this musical but it was full of fun little dances and tunes and it had some funny lines that were definitely PG-13. I liked it way more than I had expected and even BF said he enjoyed it. It isn't something you see everyday so I would really recommend booking it and just spending the 90 minutes watching a cute little show. Thinking back on it now I keep remembering how great it was and I definitely think it was my favourite show on the ship.

We got out of the show just after 9pm and went to Taste for a late dinner. I had the fried mozzarella app which was pretty similar to the mozzarella sticks at O'Sheehans. I had some spinach beignet main course and it was pretty good too. BF had the roasted chicken again and gave it a 9/10. We skipped dessert tonight and went to check out the Garden Cafe for crepes but once again we were too late!
