Has FDR done anything to benefit cruisers?

I really don't think asking people to quantify generic statements is too much.

From your posts you seem to have a much more behind the scenes look than many here. I will have to take you at your word since I have no idea how you know what you know.

More interesting = subjective

Better ingredients = objective

So you've got the right idea.

Food is subjective...........but in layman's terms.....there is catering hall quality..(chicken marsala w a sauce that was clearly extended w cornstarch and a side of broccoli florets) More gourmand than gourmet! Then there is wonderful selection of offerings that may be standards, but are cooked without an abundance of salt, extenders and msg.

On my last cruise on the breakaway..Thanksgiving........ I had the penne in the pumpkin cream sauce. Excellent. (and I am not the biggest fan of those creme sauces, but tried it) It truly was excellent..pasta cooked al dente, sauce neither too heavy or too light. Not salty, flavors stood out on their own. For those that say YUCK, DH had the roasted chicken and that was excellent.........Chicken clearly had been seasoned perfectly, roasted to perfection (skin crunchy, meat tender and juicy)................It just wasn't always that good before..........

Anyway, this is close to off topic!

At the moment yes it is NCL or go back to land vacations. I haven't seen anything about any other line that makes me want to sail on them.

I agree with this. I have looked at other lines and NCL price and value is far better IMO than the other lines I have looked at.

Yes that is quite clear.

Have you been on any other lines?

No I haven't and no need to. I have looked at the prices of the other lines and it just doesn't fit into the budget and value I like. My wife has been on carnival and said NCL is way better.

I like cruising. Glad I'm not so enamored of one cruiseline that I would give up cruising.

I like cruising too. Just because you like one product over the other doesn't mean You would give up cursing. Just like some people like apple products or others like Samsung. It's all a matter of preference. I don't cruise less because I only go on NCL. But I can tell you I probably cruise more because I enjoy the NCL product.

I didn't have a cursing problem until FDR came into the picture. Now I think I need major counseling in the cursing dept.:D

Others suggest they will give up cruising.

Oh well. Glad I'm not stuck to brand X. Brand Y is better than some give it credit for.

That's their opinion. I don't know their budgets and what they like and don't like. I could care less just like they could care less what I like and don't like.

If they want to give up cruising because of let say FDR well I dont think they really liked cruising in the first place because there are other lines out there they can choose from. Might be cheaper or more expensive but they don't need to give up cruising like you stated.

No I am not. Just telling my opinion to so one who asked me a question.

You said:If they want to give up cruising because of let say FDR well I dont think they really liked cruising in the first place because there are other lines out there they can choose from. Might be cheaper or more expensive but they don't need to give up cruising like you stated.

Then someone asked you:What happens when NCL is no longer fitting into the budget?

Then I will find something else to do. I am not stuck on using my vacation for cruising even though we enjoy it.

According to your reply you would guve up cruising and find something else to do even though you enjoy it but if others give up cruising because of the FDR cruises they didn't like cruising in the first place.

Maybe its me but sounds like a contradiction to me.

Right so instead of finding a cruise line that fit your budget you'd look for something else to do

Bill

That's what I'd do, too.

There are pretty ships, but on lines that aren't as LGBT friendly.

There are friendly lines, but they don't have the Suite benefits that I've come to enjoy.

There are lines with Suite Benefits, but they don't have the casino program which rewards my play to the extent NCL does.

There are lines which have casino programs, but their service delivery is 'stuffy', compared to NCL's 'friendly'.

So....not really excited by other brands, so far. RCCL is the closest to making me interested....all they have to do is start putting FoD meetings in their newsletter instead of making me go to the Atrium & writing-in things on a board (and then hoping every candidate passes by and reads...)
