Escape room upsell.... did we do the right thing?

My husband got an email offer to upsell from our balcony room on deck 11 to a haven room on deck 10 (forward) for $500 per person. He pulled the trigger and did it. Was this the right decision? Will we love it? We've only done balcony, outside, and inside rooms before. Will we love it too much that we won't want to go back? :D ;)

That seems like a ridiculously good deal. How did you get that upsell offer? Did you or your TA call them or did they call you? I would have pulled the trigger immediately.

I've heard several of these stories. We're considering The Haven next year but wondering if we should just take our chances and book a balcony or mini-suite and hope to get this offer as well......

For the extra $1000 did you keep whatever perks you already had?

Were you able to obtain all 4 perks for booking in Haven?

If you paid $1000 to upgrade to Haven but lost all of your booking promos then I'd say it was a bad deal. If you kept your promos or got more added on I'd say it was a good deal.

Baaaad move. You will never want to go back to non-Haven again lol

Enjoy! The Escape Haven is amazing - the restaurant has outdoor seating options, the bar/bartender has these amazing infused liqueurs that can only be found there (and are delicious), the courtyard area is huge.....

The Haven is an outstanding experience. Your husband made a great decision and probably you won't want to go back to a regular cabin! If you have not already, considering buying spa passes for the two of you as well. Wait until you get to try the breakfast and lunch for Haven guests. :):):):):)

When you get to the pier, be sure to look for VIP check in - it is separate. There is also a VIP waiting area - a little place of peace with drinks and pastry. Then you are personally escorted onboard. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time on your cruise. We only do Haven on NCL and find it 100% worth it every time. The concierge will assist you with stuff like show seats and reservations and tender tickets and on disembarkation can get you off the ship earlier than anyone else - you can be among the first 20 to disembark, if you want. Your butler can bring you any room service you want any time, offers a pillow menu, and will do all he can to make your cruise as nice as possible.

I cannot think of any downside to this decision at all.

He got an email with the offer. Actually, the email was for $750 pp and up but when he called about the offer they said it was $500. We previously only had the UBP and DH said we did not lose it.

SO excited as we're leaving this Friday and cruising on Saturday!

$500 per person!?? Damn, that's another whole cruise for two people. Guess I am just used to my inside rooms!

Its close to pricing for an inside on Escape, but considering "retail" is probably $1,500 pp more than a balcony, I'd say $500 ea is a good deal.

My wife and I received a call from our TA that we had been offered an upsell from a spa balcony to a spa suite for $750 pp and was able to keep our promos and since it made more for the TA they threw in an extra $150 OBC. It was well worth it. I love the escorted VIP embarkation and debarking while my wife loved the private restaurant. Enjoy it!

This suite isn't even located in the Haven, right? I wouldn't have done it, but that's just me. Maybe it if was $50 per person, I'd have considered it. Then again, probably not. I'd have to sacrifice my location right by the elevators, and I really like it there. :-)

No more insides for us. I personally didn't like the darkness of it. Plus, we were on an inside while aboard the SS Norway when the boilers exploded. It awoke us and I didn't like not knowing where we were.

No idea but I'm an able-bodied person and capable of walking to an elevator. ;) We don't need it right outside our door. We never really choose a cabin based on the location of it in regards to elevators.

From what I've seen of deck plans the Spa Haven suites are a floor below The Haven on the same level as the Spa. I BELIEVE there is a forward stairway that drops you right next to The Haven. The Aft-facing Haven suites are also not in The Haven but still have Haven access.

I also received the upsell offer and we are considering it. Was 30 minutes too late calling. I think we are going to jump on it tomorrow morning if it's still available. I was originally booked in a spa mini suite, but don't want to lose my spa passes. That may be a deal breaker if so.

You will love it. And it is a fantastic deal. Take advantage of everything the Havens has to offer and you will never want to go back to an inside room again!

Have a great cruise!

LMAO! I don't even use the elevators. I take the stairs, which coincidentally are located near the elevator. :-). I just really can't stand walking up and down those long skinny halls. That's why we try to always get right near the elevator banks/stairs.
