Help - Can you use obc on slot machines or to pay tips?

Looking at booking a Celebrity cruise, getting the Go better deal, $300 obc and drink package.

 

My question is this, can you use the obc to pay tips or play the slot machine? Can you draw money out of the slot machine if you do not use all of your obc?

Yes. We have applied it to the gratuities and also got cash at the teller in the casino to use for slots or to keep. To keep, there is a 5% charge. For slots, I'm not sure. You can also use it toward tours or in the ships shops.

If you're booking Select Dining you'll have to prepay your gratuities with final payment so won't be able to use your obc for that.

In the casino if you want to play OBC on the slots they can apply it to your seapass card, but it is not refundable, you transfer the balance from your card to a machine to play in increments you decide. Every spin you make is deducted, any "winnings" can be cashed out using the normal ticket. If using it this way I have never been charged the 5%.

 

At times they have special packages where you can do the above and they will give you 10% or higher bonus credit on your card. $110 for $100, $225 for $200 etc.

 

Only if you take it in cash to play have I been charged the 5%.
