ozark74 Posted December 18, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 18, 2015 (edited) We just got a taxi to the airport. Didn't have to wait until the shuttle got a full load. Taxi is a lot easier and don't think the cost is that much different. It is a quick trip. Edited December 18, 2015 by ozark74

Rare Hlitner Posted December 18, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 18, 2015 Taking a taxi is generally less expensive (and a lot faster) then using a cruise line provided shuttle bus. As to Uber, we had an interesting discussion (3 weeks ago) with the Uber driver that took us to the POM from our hotel. He said that Uber was allowed to take passengers into the cruise port, but that per an agreement with the port authority they were not allowed to pick-up anyone inside the port. He further said that some Uber drivers ignore the rule, but do it at their own risk. We just returned to the POM last Sunday (Eclipse) and did notice one Uber driver (he actually had a small sign on his windshield) picking up a passenger. The entire Uber situation in both Dade (Miami) and Broward (Ft Lauderdale) is in a state of flux...so it is hard to predict what will happen tomorrow, next month, etc. Hank
JohninDC Posted December 18, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 18, 2015 Taxi from POM to MIA is a flat rate fare of $27+tip -- same price, one passenger or 6 in a van-taxi. As mentioned above, faster and cheaper than the shuttles.
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 19, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 19, 2015 I highly recommend a taxi. If there are two of you it's a no brainier in terms of cost. Very easy. Keith
