Coral Princess upgrade

What are the chances of getting an upgrade? We are in a balcony that can sleep 3 but there is only 2 of us. We don't need the extra bed or want it? Is there something we can do to improve our chances?

The upgrade fairy is a mystery.

The most you could hope for is an upsell, an upgrade for a fee. Free upgrades from balcony to mini-suite are highly unlikely.

You will never notice that your cabin can sleep 3. Ships can reach their capacity and still have cabins that can hold more guests than booked. Ships have far more berths than the legal capacity of the ship which means that many of the cabins that can accommodate 3 or 4 guest sail with only 2 guests (or even only one).

We are on the Coral end of January and they already emailed back before Christmas with upsell pricing from balcony to mini suite. I would think a free upgrade is a long shot, but of course you never know.

We are on a six night cruise and the upsell amount was $99 Per person, to give you an idea of pricing. And just FYI, there are quite a few mini suites on the Coral that have fully uncovered balconies if that matters to you.

No one has told you the obvious, which is that the extra bed is a bunk that comes out of the ceiling and so you won't even know it's there. Since you don't have a third person, there's no reason the steward would ever lower it.

It most likely won't matter. The ship could be at 3rd/4th capacity long before they would ever need your extra berth cabin. All berths and all cabins will not be completely filled on any cruise.
