2016 Identity Captain, Hotel Director, Concierge, etc.

It's funny - we cruise with NCL and RCL and have never had the same concierge or cruise director twice. Not even on cruises 4 months apart.

But we only cruise about once a year usually. Some lucky people on cruise critic seem to cruise almost monthly!

 

Our Hotel director and Concierge we meet on NCL Sun, moved to NCL Dawn and sailed with us 6 more times in a row.

I think I have a lot to learn as a new cruiser lol but I seem to read alot of comments about cruise ship staff members and their positions on the ship e.g officer, etc

 

Is this important as a cruiser? I feel like I should know something upon boarding the ship lol

As a new cruiser, you should join your sailings roll call, go to the meet & greet, be kind to all the staff on board, read these boards for first timers and the board for the line you'll be sailing. If food is important to you, read those threads. Also, check out the ports of call boards for where you're going - there are more excursion options than what the ship offers.

 

Not really any need to know names of anyone until you get there and see who's on your ship. Since it's you're first time, form your own opinions. You probably won't have any contact with a butler or concierge unless you booked a suite. You could run into the HD, and will hear the CD doing their announcements. Just go, have fun. Pack half the clothes and twice the money you think you'll need.

Yes I have researched many of those things and I like pack half the clothes comment :). I do plan to travel light. In fact I'm hoping to get 5 days on one carry on type luggage and a nap sack :)

The only one I know is Hotel Director Brian Walters.

I know this from personal email contact in the last 72 hours, not from having been aboard.

 

There seems to be a growing trend on this thread for folks to post requests for current information befor sailing.

Then, they fail to post actual information after sailing.

Please help us break this cycle by posting all the names when you return home around Oct 15.

The Escape's CD was Tyler Gray, who I think might be moving to another ship, the Assistant Hotel Director was Errol, can't remember last name but he was wonderful, the HD was Jovo, but I believe he was there while someone else was on vacation, Guest Services Manager was Odie, Restaurant Manager Corina, Food & Beverage Director was Anil, and Beverage Manager and Executive Housekeeper were Jose (2).

 

I will get another list during my M&G on the Sun and hopefully will bring back full names of all of them.

Thank you! Yes, Jovo is awesome! We sailed with him on Getaway earlier this year. Although, in my 5 year olds eyes no one compares to Ms. Sonja. I love knowing that it will be a stress free week as both have been absolutely wonderful about my daughter's allergies and were amazing to work with in the past.
