We are taking a Xmas/New years Cruise next Dec out of Fort Lauderdale on the Serenade of the Seas. Was just wondering if anyone took a similar cruise this Christmas/New Years and could comment on it. Did RC offer a Christmas party or New Years Eve party? Did the specialty resturants have special menus for those nights? Just trying to gather info. Thanks in advance.

We sailed the Brilliance for Xmas this year, and the Enchantment for NYE.

Xmas cruise had slight modifications to the compass, but not a whole lot. Santa did come and bring presents for all the kids. There was also some very nice xmas caroling in the centrum.

NYE was really amazing on the ship. From the time we boarded, the ship was full of energy. They had constant music in the centrum. By 1:00 boarding day, there was already dancing in the centrum. The dinner menu was really nice. Everyone had the choice to have the Chops filet at no extra charge. There was also lobster. It was a very modified dinner menu. After NYE celebration, the rest of the cruise basically went back to normal.

Allure was great for NYE. Everyone goes to the promenade. It was PACKED. Depending on the size of your group/budget, they do have some reserved seating to watch the festivities at Schooner Bar which make for a really memorable and special experience. None of the menus were any different anywhere. The only thing out of the ordinary I noticed was free champagne on boarding day, which I hadn't seen before.

Sue & I just returned from the 2015 Holdays cruise on the Serenade, it was a 12 day southern Caribbean cruise. Christmas eve at sea, Christmas day in Labadee, NYE in St John's, Antigua and NY Day in Philipsburg, St. Maarten...

Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve were the Formal Nights. We dined in the main dining room both nights.

On Christmas Eve there were traditional Christmas dinner selections (turkey, ham, etc.).

There was a very nice menu on New Years Eve. I have posted a PDF of the menu online and here is the link http://www.the-hotline.net/NYE Menu.pdf.

We Thoroughly Enjoyed The Cruise and would book it again if we were not doing a Christmas Market River Cruise on the Rhine next year...

Santa made his appearance on Christmas Day on the Beach of Labadee, Presents for all the children.

Dennis & Sue
