HAL Increasing Single Supplement

HAL just released some of the May to October 2017 sailings.

 

The Transatlantic and European Cruises now have a 75% Supplement.

 

Alaska and Voyage of the Vikings are 200%.

I didn't know that HAL offered single supplements, I've always paid 200%. But I always travel solo and will not stay in an inside cabin, I just double whatever the price and book according to what I can afford.

I have never paid 100% supplement. My bookings usually are inside but some HAL either upgraded or had a special charging for an outside the same as inside.

 

I use to pay 50% or less but last few years they raised it to 60%. Outside or better usually was 100%.

 

Maybe my time on HAL is about to end.:mad:

I've never paid 200% on an inside or outside cabin on HAL when I've sailed solo. I think it can vary by cabin category and destination.

They may offer some discounts at the last minute that I have missed though....

For anyone interested in an Alaskan cruise this year on HAL, there are some sailings with balconies the same price as oceanview cabins. Yes, it is a 200% price but getting a balcony lessens the pain and makes it seem like a better deal.

An outside solo cabin on the Koningsdam was cheaper than an inside with the single supplement by $400.00 for the 19 day inaugural trip. But, I booked it a long time ago. Solo cabins is the way to go for me.

RCL has an Alaska cruise in May, 2017 with no single supp at $1500 including tax/fees in a balcony cabin. It's Radiance of the Seas.
