Embassy Suites and taxis

We have stayed at several hotels in the 17th St vicinity. Some seem to have taxis in a queue or readily arriving for passenger transport to the port. Others, it seems a taxi has to be called.

Does the Embassy Suites have a queue of taxis in the mornings or will I need to call for one? We will be going from ES to the port on a Monday in February.

they used to also have a shuttle bus running back and forth from the hotel to the port .... particularly useful for groups as opposed to multiple cabs ... just another option

They still do. I believe it is $10.0pp, so if there is more than one of you it is the same or less expensive and quicker with a cab.

We were at the Embassy Suites in early December, and have stayed there 6 or 7 times previously before a cruise. They usually do have cabs waiting for passengers however, if there are none, the bellmen will make the call for you. They have done this for us several times.

As far as costs, we left for the pier on a Friday morning around 10:30 AM- cab ride was approximately 10-12 minutes to the pier and the meter fare was $8.10 plus tip. Not sure of the terminal number but it was the new large terminal used for Allure and Oasis and whoever is fortunate enough to have that when the behemoths are not there.

For our return to the airport, once again from the same terminal our cab fare to terminal 1 at the airport was $12.50 plus tip.

To go one last step further, cab from airport to Embassy Suites was $13.30 PLUS $3.00 airport surcharge plus tip. That ride was a bit slow because of traffic.

Hope this information helps.

Have a Great Cruise!

Jed
