We always cruise during the slower seasons when kids are in school. We are considering a summer cruise but having a hard time swallowing the $$$ increase for peak season.

Just wondering has anyone had luck booking a summer cruise at an off season rate at the last minute?

The few times we have sailed in summer the prices were quite high and they didn't go down. It's amazing how much the prices drop just a few weeks into Sept.

You definitely will not see prices like you would in late fall or early winter.

If you see a price that you can live with, book as soon as possible and hope for a price drop, but don't count on it.

have a great cruise

We sailed on the Magic last August( 22) and got a Lido balcony for about 1900 for three of us. We then got an upsell to a Suite for about $400, which we thought was a really good deal.

Our family vacations are always in the high season. I book early saver and hope for the best. Honestly, the last good round of price drops was summer of 2013 after the Triumph fire. Summer of 2015 were tiny drops. The quad cabin didn't have a drop. The price only increased. The two balcony with two occupants had minimal drops one was only $20 and the other was $80 for senior rate. It is important to us to have staterooms next to each other. We like to have the dividers open. We also need a handicap across the hall for Mom. I do check the prices until two days prior to sailing. The only lower prices I have seen close to sailing are guarantee rooms. This isn't acceptable for us. We need to be near Mom.
