pma29223 Posted January 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2016 I heard that Carnival us not doing the lobster tails on the shorter cruises. What did they replace the lobster tails with? What kind of seafood do they serve on the shorter cruises?

If you go to zydecocruiser.net, and indicate which ship you'll be on, you can look at the menu that will be offered for that cruise. ;) Edited January 15, 2016 by beachbum53

nowendy Posted January 15, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 15, 2016 Just off the elation 5 day and no lobster. It is replaced with 4 grilled shrimp that used to come with the lobster. You could upgrade for $20 surcharge and get one lobster tail. I wish they would of limited the lobster to one per person instead of just doing away with it
BallFour4 Posted January 15, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 15, 2016 (edited) Cruises shorter than 7 nights no longer offer lobster as a MDR entree for no charge. An option is to pay a $20 premium get a larger, tasty crustacean. . Edited January 15, 2016 by BallFour4
RHilla619 Posted January 15, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 15, 2016 No lobster on Fantasy 5 night, 2 weeks ago. Very disappointing considering it was a New Years Eve Week cruise and the price was very high, figured there'd be lobster on NYE which was the only formal night. They got to suck $20 out of me when I sprung for the surf and turf lol. Anyways there wasn't something jumping off the page in place of the lobster, lots of seafood though. Scallops and shrimp almost every night.

dfwhgsfan Posted January 16, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 16, 2016 We just did the 7 day Southern Carib on Liberty and lobster was offered the first formal night at no charge, but on the 2nd formal night, you had to pay $20 surcharge if you wanted it. SadieN Posted January 16, 2016 #10 Share Posted January 16, 2016 Sailed the Inspiration last December. We really enjoyed the scallop appetizer. Two of those would make a nice entree. The ravioli in vodka sauce was also good.
ATL_Miami_Cruiser Posted January 16, 2016 #11 Share Posted January 16, 2016 I guess everyone's tastes are different. I hated the ravioli in vodka sauce (too much pasta not enough crab meat) and didn't enjoy any of the replacements. Carnival bring back the lobster on shorter cruises!!! kingoftheicedragons Posted January 16, 2016 #16 Share Posted January 16, 2016 To answer the question of what replaces the lobster on cruises 5 nights or less: broiled sea scallops with truffled risotto and citrus gremolata blue crab ravioli in a light lobster cream with vodka oven baked Japanese sea bass with nicoise sauce and aromatic basmati rice grilled jumbo shrimp with special marinara sauce and mustard potatoes roasted duck with orange glaze and au gratin potatoes. hlauburn Posted January 16, 2016 #17 Share Posted January 16, 2016 Then buy him a real lobster tail. She's a girl, and I have bought her a "real" lobster tail but she's looking forward to having one or two on the cruise.
