Buying a Bottle of Wine

We will be doing our 1st trans-Atlantic next October. Just curious if anyone done this. Can you purchase a bottle of wine on the ship to enjoy in your room? I will bring on-board my 2 bottles allowed but the cruise has like 8 sea days. Also, I don't plan to get the beverage package.

I'd suggest you check at the bar in the buffet area during lunches. They often sell bottles of wine at lower prices for enjoyment anywhere but the dining rooms (in other words, you can buy them, take them to your room, open them and drink them while sitting around the pool...but you can't then bring the bottle to dinner in the MDR and drink it there...they want the full price in the MDR).
