Road to Hana Princess excursion

Has anyone done this excursion? If so, what did you think? We are interested but it's expensive so looking for opinions. Thanks.

Hi, We did it Great trip

 

Good to have someone familiar with the road and time it takes driving confidently and knowing where to stop

 

We did notice the same tour was booked independently and cheaper by some

 

There was road work and long delays on the way back The independents we're really glad they were on the same road with the Princess tours, since it looked like we all might get back late, but it all worked out

 

We did this in January and it was not as wet and lush as I would have expected

On our first trip to Maui we rented a car and drove to Hana. It does take a very long time as the road is winding along the coast at the base of the mountain. There is not anything for miles until you reach Hana. I think every tourist who visits Maui has to to the road to Hana. Have fun.

If you have a day to "kill" the Road to Hana will do it. There are MANY more interesting things to see and do in Maui! Save that for a land trip, when you have major time to kill!

While scenic, it's much to long of a trip to do in one day off the ship. It only allows for stopping along the way for quick photo's at various spots.

Just so you know, they sell T shirts that say "I survived the road to Hana". We did the road trip and fully understand why. :D
