Best time to visit?

I'm looking at Pacific Coastal cruises and I'm wondering what is a better time to visit - March/ April or Sept/Oct?

The northern part of the pacific coastal (WA and OR) will likely be rainier in the early spring. September is known in the pacific northwest as a lovely weather month. Rain will be more likely in mid-October. Spring weather in California is usually sunny and nice, 60's and 70's. This year the weather has been impacted by El Nino, meaning far more rain than usual in California, especially in the northern part of the state. The weather guessers are forecasting that the effects of El Nino will lessen as 2016 progresses. Our last pacific coastal cruise was a late September itinerary. The weather was lovely, sweater or shirt-sleeve weather, for the entire cruise.

I would say, for entire West Coast, September. May as second choice. April and October may be colder and wetter in the northern parts, but good in California, particularly southern California.

That's good to know because we have just booked a Pacific Coastal cruise for September 2017. A long time to wait but we have some other cruises before then.

October is when the winter storms start to impact the Pacific coast around Washington , Oregon and British Columbia.

Out of the four I would go with September.
