cagneys/Moderno changes

i just got off the BA, and had dinner at Cagneys last night. i asked the server what were changes. ....heres a few....

pea soup replaced with lobster bisque and crab cakes are added to the appetizers. Veal shank, prime rib and pork chops added. Waitness said veal was her new favorite. The shrimp cocktail this past week came with 3 instead of 4. I ordered 8 pieces, but with a la carte beginning today, thats no longer an option.

In Moderno, salad bar changed while on cruise, offering only cheddar as a cheese choice at the salad bar. NCL is adding filet wrapped in bacon and i think swordfish and a few other choices.

I had the lobster bisque twice at Cagney's on the Escape Transatlantic. It was wonderful. I also has the crab cakes, but I liked the ones in the MDR better.

Thanks for sharing. It doesn't sound so great if you're allergic to shellfish/crustaceans - seems to have reduced the choice quite a lot.

I'm just wondering what from the OPs post makes you think there are reduced choices?

Because, in the context of someone who can't eat shellfish, one dish that could be eaten has been replaced with two that cannot be eaten. That is less choice among appetisers.

The only thing the OP mentioned that was removed and replaced with shellfish was the pea soup being replaced by lobster bisque. Other than that the OP mentioned some additions One that happened to be crab cakes (shell fish) but also there were 3 other additions (veal, prime rib and pork) that are not shell fish. So I do not see what you think was reduced. Trust me, there is plenty to choose from that is not shellfish.

I also noticed some change at le bistro

4 cornet are gone , duck duo is gone

Oyster are back at cagneys

cucina has no pizza

Thanks, but I'm aware of the Escape menus (I think I was the first person to post them here from Hamburg).

What I'm trying to work out is whether the menus being rolled out are the same.

Previously, there have been changes between the menus introduced on new ships and those actually rolled out. Comments from people who have been onboard since the rollout started have suggested that the new menus may not be exactly the same, but we don't seem to have actually seen one of the new menus.

They are proving particularly elusive.

We just had the new menus on the Gem. DH had pea soup at Cagneys. He would have been happier with the lobster bisque if it had been there. We have seen three shrimps a for the shrimp cocktail for some time. With a dining package you can get extra shrimp since you can get extra appetizers.

Are you still onboard? If so then please take a picture of the menu so we can see if they are the same as the Escape ones.

With the dining package can you order any entree on the menu or are there restrictions?

I know you can only order one entree.

I believe you can order the entrees that don't have an additional charge. Well, I suppose you can order any entree but you'll be asked to pay extra for the lobster or other upcharge entrees.

these posted menus look like what the servers told us about last week on the BA, so it seems safe to assume the Escape menus will be fleetwide.

the question remains, how will a la carte pricing affect UDP, assuming thats still an option? can you order multiple apps?
