The shades are probably engineered to be completely light blocking and most likely are locked after closing at night to prevent light from the suite destroying the night vision of the bridge crew.

I think it is kind of neat to have something like that on a ship. Sure beats having to lower them yourself!

Thank You both!!!! :D I just think it's sad that it needed to be said. Some people just, sigh, I don't even know what to say about some people. They just seem to think that if they're seen, had, or experienced something then everyone else has as well and therefore it's not the least bit interesting or exciting to anyone. Drives me crazy sometimes (and not in a good way)!!

 

By the way, I have seen automatic shades/blinds before and I still think they're cool!! :D

We had 9201 on the Valor as well. Although closing the blinds might not be a thrill, opening them in the morning to see the amazing view of the ocean, or the scenic views coming into port, well worth the investment.

Tilted windows like those on Allure - shades were not automatic - very hard to get them to close over the window for my daughter sleeping in that room -score 1 for Carnival they spent the extra $, but that chesterfield - looks tacky
