aquidneck1 Posted August 2, 2017 #451 Share Posted August 2, 2017 So sorry about the loss of the photos. One final question, are there stairs between the Hilton Sussen and berth 160. Considering walking but may just request a cab. Thanks so much for all of your contributions.
Desdichado62 Posted August 2, 2017 Author #452 Share Posted August 2, 2017 So sorry about the loss of the photos. One final question, are there stairs between the Hilton Sussen and berth 160. Considering walking but may just request a cab. Thanks so much for all of your contributions. Due to the construction work I think there will be some stairs but I am not sure. When I'm Stockholm I usually arrive by train and the last time I was in Stockholm we parked on a street in Östermalm. I'm not that often around the Sussen area when I am in Stockholm and I don't know exactly what it looks like now around Slussen since it is a huge construction site. soundcruiser Posted August 8, 2017 #453 Share Posted August 8, 2017 Hi, Desdichado, Do you have a suggestion of where we might buy a Sunday New York Times near Slussen (either in Gamla Stan or Sodermalm)?
Desdichado62 Posted August 8, 2017 Author #454 Share Posted August 8, 2017 Hi, Desdichado,Do you have a suggestion of where we might buy a Sunday New York Times near Slussen (either in Gamla Stan or Sodermalm)? The only one I know of who might have it is Pressbyrån which have three stores close to Slussen. 1. Västerlånggatan 19 (Gamla Stan in the northern end, close to Stortorget and the Royal Palace) 2. Slussplan 1-3 (at the square just north of Slussen) 3. Slussen subway station (south of Slussen). https://www.google.se/maps/dir/V%C3%A4sterl%C3%A5nggatan+19,+111+29+Stockholm/Slussplan+1,+111+30+Stockholm/Slussen,+Stockholm/@59.3225476,18.0667269,16z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m20!4m19!1m5!1m1!1s0x465f77e26d6497fb:0x865920d7de6b8494!2m2!1d18.0689799!2d59.325583!1m5!1m1!1s0x465f77e32ff69017:0x675f72839cf01d02!2m2!1d18.0726748!2d59.3221706!1m5!1m1!1s0x465f77fb539ae3c7:0x6843f2b1e9bfe7a9!2m2!1d18.0721406!2d59.3195124!3e2
north-bound Posted August 8, 2017 #455 Share Posted August 8, 2017 Hi, Desdichado,Do you have a suggestion of where we might buy a Sunday New York Times near Slussen (either in Gamla Stan or Sodermalm)? There is a shop that specializes in international press in Götgatan 31. This is a main street on Södermalm, coming up from Slussen. I can't say that I know if they have Sunday New York Times, but probably more likely than Pressbyrån.

I did also look for a good presentation in English but couldn't find any. They have not only Swedish press, but a lot of international, both dailies and all kinds of magazines. soundcruiser Posted August 25, 2017 #462 Share Posted August 25, 2017 Hi, Desdichado - what is the current status of construction in the Sodermalmstorg area? We are planning to take the T-bana to Slussen and then walk to the Hilton when we arrive next Saturday- will this be possible? Will we need to walk up to Gotgatan and then turn right? Thanks! And hope your new year of studies is going well!

Sadie Lady Posted August 26, 2017 #465 Share Posted August 26, 2017 Hi Desdichado62,- your info has been very helpful in planning my cruise which ends in Stockholm. Quick question about the Frihamnen port. My ship, Regent Navigator gets into Frihamnen on 9/14 and I am trying to pre-book a taxi with Taxi Stockholm. On their website my options for pick up location are: Frihamnen Containerterminalen, Frihamnen Hus N, Hus K, Hus G, Hus E, Hus D, Frihamnen Magasin 1, Magasin 2-9. I can't quite figure out which would be the cruise terminal. Would you happen to know? Thanks!

I don't know if ABBA museum as and the new Viking museum will be open or closed though. There will be celebrations at Skansen all weekend long.
