bcnvcanada Posted February 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2016 Does anyone know where a market is in Cartagena? We want to get some wine. We know that Corte de ingles carries many types that we enjoy. We are willing to take a bus to get to an area, where we can shop. Thanking you for help. campolady Posted February 11, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2016 (edited) Does anyone know where a market is in Cartagena? We want to get some wine. We know that Corte de ingles carries many types that we enjoy. We are willing to take a bus to get to an area, where we can shop. Thanking you for help. El Corte Ingles - not the biggest compared with those in major cities so don't expect a vast choice of wines - is in the Centro Comercial Alameda de San Anton. There is a street market in Cartagena every Wednesday and an indoor market - Santa Florentina - open 8 am to 3 p.m. Monday to Saturday; the Santa Florentina market is on Calle San Juan Fernandez on the corner with Calle Juan Carlos III. There is a good little tapas bar just inside the entrance of the Santa Florentina market. You are unlikely to find anything better than the rustic local wine - usually in plastic bottles - at the markets. For Carrefour - I assume that is what you mean by Careflour - there is a store at Calle Alfonso XIII no. 68 in Cartagena BUT, for a decent selectin of wines, you would need a taxi out of town to the Carrefour hypermarket at the Espacio Mediterraneo shopping centre on the Poligono Industrial Cabezo Beaza; the store is on Calle Londres in sector P3. You may be better off looking in some of the independent Wine Shops in Cartagena such as Ad Vinum on Calle Vía Verde, Barriada de San Cristobal Edited February 11, 2016 by campolady

wowzz Posted February 11, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2016 There's a Mercadona on the Plaza de Espana. If you are a wine buff, this is not for you, but if you are looking for reasonably priced Spanish wines, they have a reasonable selection.
