Only of the amount paid was not an amount reduced from current website pricing.

If Royal calls you and offers you a chance to upgrade for a price then the answer is no.

 

If you see an opportunity to upgrade by paying the difference between the price that you paid and the price on the website then the answer is yes.

You will not. I did this 2 years ago paid $900 to do so and frankly the points was the main reason as it would have moved me to D+ and even though my travel agent said yes and at the time there was no documentation anywhere saying I was no entitled to them I did not get them I tried to fight this as some people said they had gotten them. But without result. Soon after that wording did appear saying would not get the points. There are older threads out there that discuss this. If you do by chance get an RCI agent who tells you it counts (not your TA if using) get it documented in writing not just in general but specific to your situation)

I did enjoy the suite but for me personally without the points I overpaid.
