Help with renting a car

We are looking to rent a car. Has anyone ever used Dollar Rent a Car? Also wondering if they give ride to cruise port when you return car. Port Everglades FFL

We have been using this local company for years.

Pickup/dropoff at airport/hotels/piers.

Alamo gives you a ride to the port from FLL after you turn in your rental car. They will tell you which stop to catch the bus and you show your receipt and there is no charge. We have used this several times

Alamo and National are the only company at fll airport who run a free bus, it's only around $15 for a cab so you would have to cost it out

Dollar has a drop off location for port everglades. We picked up our car there and were picked up at the port.

We rented from Budget last week. Picked up 2/6 at FLL airport, returned to the port location on 17th? street. It is in the strip mall. They have a shuttle to/from the port. We rented again on 2/14 from the port location and returned the car the following day to the airport.

 

Tips: Watch your timing. It can get hectic when renters and returners collide. We dropped our bags off at the port around 10:00 am...got breakfast, filled car with gas then dropped off. Do not go inside the building. flag down the return people who will be outside. We were seated at Alfredo's for lunch by 11:45.

 

When we got off the ship, we took a cab rather than waiting for the shuttle. We beat the rush and were on the road in no-time.
