nursedibdob Posted February 21, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2016 Ive stayed in Rome quite a few times now & took my husband here for his 40th. It was our favourite for site, old fashioned Roman ambience & price http://mobile.hotelcityroma.it

nerds2go Posted February 22, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 22, 2016 The Lancelot Hotel!!!!!! LOVED this place! We had a balcony view of the Colosseum and ancient Rome, but it was tucked away on a quiet side street. It is run by a local family who go out of their way to make your stay unforgettable! It's recommended by Rick Steve and all over trip adviser. Cost was a little more than what we usually pay in the states, but it wasn't outrageous and well worth it! Trixsea Posted February 22, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 22, 2016 I second the vote for the Lancelot. Stayed there a few years ago and will be going back in May.

nursedibdob Posted February 23, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 23, 2016 I just checked Trip Advisor & somehow the name has been flipped. You'll find it under City Hotel. Tommy3putts Posted February 23, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 23, 2016 Hotel Madrid at Spanish Steps. Not fancy but great location. We've stayed there on two different trips.
bobalink Posted February 23, 2016 #10 Share Posted February 23, 2016 We recently stayed at Albergo del Senato. It is directly across from the Pantheon, making it close walking distance to most of the major sites. We only took a taxi to the Vatican. Check them out on Trip Advisor: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...ome_Lazio.html A few years ago, we stayed at Hotel Artemide. It was a great place, too. In terms of location, we preferred Albergo del Senato. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...ome_Lazio.html Both hotels had good breakfasts included, helpful staff, clean and quiet. lindabodrum Posted February 23, 2016 #11 Share Posted February 23, 2016 We stayed in Hotel Trevi, a few steps from my favorite place, the Trevi fountain. It was fab, and only fifteen mins walk to Colosseum and walked the whole city from there.

tassietravellers Posted February 24, 2016 #13 Share Posted February 24, 2016 Our first trip in 2012 we stayed at Hotel Accademia, 50m from Trevi Fountain, great poition, nothing fancy but a nice hotel with plenty of restaurants and bars close by. Good breakfast and free wifi at the café next door. In June this year we are staying at Hotel Solis, only about a 5 min walk to the Colloseum, it has very good reviews on trip advisor. traveler525 Posted February 25, 2016 #14 Share Posted February 25, 2016 Last September we stayed at the Hotel Indigo. Really nice, close to everything, only a ten minute walk to Vatican City.
