LEtue Posted February 23, 2016 #11 Share Posted February 23, 2016 Really disappointing to see that the Explorer still isn't stopping in Ketchikan....but I guess the itinerary still appeals to some.

Saintsfan007 Posted February 23, 2016 #13 Share Posted February 23, 2016 Nice, and I don't have any problem with the Panthers either! Just a little divisional rivalry. :) DW and I are waiting for the sailings to open up. We've never been to Alaska, and are planning something for our anniversary next year. PantherFan Posted February 23, 2016 #14 Share Posted February 23, 2016 We have done over 40 cruises 2 of them being Alaska. They are by far my favorites. It took me 8 years to convince my wife to the first time. Seattle (Explorer) is the easiest for travel purposes since the Radiance routes are not round trips. skrapngal Posted February 23, 2016 #18 Share Posted February 23, 2016 I love RCCL, but for Alaska, Glacier Bay is a MUST-SEE and unfortunately RCCL doesn't go there.
Clarea Posted February 24, 2016 #19 Share Posted February 24, 2016 I love RCCL, but for Alaska, Glacier Bay is a MUST-SEE and unfortunately RCCL doesn't go there. From what I've read, Holland and Princess have the best itineraries for Alaska.

Have you done that particular one before? Any tips for an Alaska newbie would be greatly appreciated.
PantherFan Posted February 24, 2016 #23 Share Posted February 24, 2016 For the Seattle route we stay right downtown in Seattle so we can walk to the local sites. We go early and spend a couple days in Seattle. We have stayed right on the waterfront at the Edgewater Hotel. 5-6 blocks to Pikes and 7-8 to the Space Needle. Short taxi ride to the pier.
