Clarea Posted February 28, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 28, 2016 Sweet! Thank you!!! To my knowledge, the only beer you cannot get with the packages is Chimay Blue 750ml.

Rare JessyCruises Posted February 28, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2016 I have been refused Fosters on both the Select & Premium Package. I do not think it is technically included, although sometimes you can come across a bartender that will make an exception.

Rare JessyCruises Posted February 28, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) Which ships? Indy, Freedom & Oasis. On the Beers of the World menu in the pub, Fosters has an asterix beside it denoting it is not included. Clarea Posted February 28, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 28, 2016 Indy, Freedom & Oasis. That's so odd, because we could get it on Oasis in September. This is the problem with Royal not enumerating the beer limits like they do wine and cocktails. The rules can change ship to ship, or even bar manager to bar manager. Yup, one menu says it is not included but sometimes they let you have it anyway. I just wish they would make a rule and stick to it, or get rid of the rule. I will say that when I was on the Oasis in November we got to know the bartenders pretty well in the pub and about 1/2 way through the trip they began to allow me to have Fosters :)

I appreciate your feedback.

Cabansail Posted February 28, 2016 #14 Share Posted February 28, 2016 If they don't serve it at the Bars then ask at the Medical Centre, they may have some specimens they would give you for free. They would taste the same. :D

Cabansail Posted February 28, 2016 #16 Share Posted February 28, 2016 Some do drink it here. It is seen in some of the best gutters. It was an obscure Melbourne brew which became infamous as the preferred drop of Bazza MacKenzie in the 60's comic strip in Private Eye. It then became prominent in the UK and later became more popular back here. I do not drink much and if I do have a beer it is rarely a lager. There are some nice Ales which are good to enjoy slowly. Cabansail Posted February 28, 2016 #18 Share Posted February 28, 2016 If you have not seen it you may get a laugh out of /The Adventures of Barry McKenzie which was a satire of Australian culture back in the 60's/70's, a bit like Trump is for you guys today. I preferred the original comic strip on which the movie was based.
Havingfun2010 Posted February 28, 2016 #19 Share Posted February 28, 2016 Fosters is like Budweiser. It's not really a good beer. However, at one time, they did not permit it but on my last three trips, I had them. The pub also changed and the only item not available was Chimay. Cabansail Posted February 28, 2016 #20 Share Posted February 28, 2016 After the first dozen it all tastes much the same. At that point you have to consider the flavour on the return journey.
