Saturngrl Posted March 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2016 We're sailing the Oasis next February and will have side-by-side cabins. Do the partitions open between the oceanview balconies? We did this on our recent Celebrity cruise (4 adjoining cabins) and had several parties for our group of 8 on the balcony on sea days.
iujen94 Posted March 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) Our side-by-side cabins on Allure had a partition that could be opened. We had to ask our steward, and I think someone from maintenance came to open it. Edited March 8, 2016 by iujen94
Merion_Mom Posted March 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 8, 2016 Yes, those partitions are physically capable of being opened. It is always up to the master of the vessel to decide whether it is safe to do so. Most people have reported success. :)
Beardface Posted March 8, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 8, 2016 Yes they can. We had a group of 4 rooms in a row where we had the dividers opened between each. Made for a rather large area.
M_BA Posted March 8, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 8, 2016 Success at getting them opened depends on the ship and its policy dictated by the Captain. Ask your stateroom attendant first thing and it'll be done for you if it is allowed. A few have reported that the partitions can flap a bit in high winds and make noise. One poster commented on how he made shims to quiet the noisy open partitions. I hope you are successful, that'll make for a much larger balcony area for you all! We just wedged one of our chairs against it when we weren't using them both and that pretty much solved that problem.

Grangb2 Posted March 9, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 9, 2016 Have been 5 for 5 on doors being opened. Only exception I would think would be short term on high seas. Expect this is a non issue...
