Sorry if this has been asked before.

If we are receiving the SDP as perk (for 4 nights), and are platinum members, will we still

get the voucher for free dinner in LeBistro that we can use for the 5th night.

Thanks

Yes, and if you are a couple then you effectively get 6 meals each.

The rules are slightly different though between the SDP and the platinum meal though. For the platinum meal it is strictly one dish per course and a couple of the dishes are excluded.

We had nothing excluded, on our recent cruises, when using our Platinum certificates.

No, nor did I, but someone reported on here recently that some dishes were excluded. I think they showed the slip with the exclusions on it.

I know that's how it's been - but I hear that may have recently changed???

My PCC told me on Monday that "very recently" it changed to one certificate per cabin - IF both were Platinum. If it is one Platinum sailing with someone not - the certificate is still a +1 for the Platinum to bring a guest.

Can't find it changed anywhere on the NCL website - the Latitudes rewards still says a Platinum guest receives a dinner for two at LeBistro with a bottle of wine. If you have 2 Platinum guests it was 2 certificates.

Still researching......

Every now and then for over six months, reports like this have been posted, but nobody has reported any problem onboard.

I'd treat anything said by the online reps with a shovel full of salt. They really don't have a good record on things like this.

Good to know! I guess time will tell - and if it does prove to be the case I'm sure we will hear about it here. :o

My guess is no, but thought I would ask

Yes, you can usually use the voucher(s) in Moderno or La Cucina as well.

Like others have mentioned there are a few items on the menu from La Cucina and Le Bistro that are excluded, here is a quote from ncl.com/latitude-rewards-program:

** Benefit entitles guest to one appetizer, one entrée and one dessert of their choice. Entrée item in Le Bistro excludes Homard Roti Au Beurre (lobster tail) and Cote De Boeuf Pour Deux (Angus beef ribeye steak for two). Entrée item in our Italian restaurant excludes Lobster Fra Diavolo (Maine lobster) and Bistecca Fiorentina (T-bone steak). Restrictions apply.

FYI: It seems like I was wrong about the Moderno being an option for the Platinum dinner (it used to be La Cucina and the Asian restaurant as alternatives in addition to Le Bistro, and I was pretty certain that as the Asian restaurant now is complimentary they had changed the third option to Moderno, but it doesn't say anything about it on the website, so I probably remember wrong - sorry....)

You can't use the Platinum certificate at Moderno anymore. Yes the Asian restaurant is now free

Thanks so much for all of your responses. I was only expecting 1 certificate, so if my husband and I can both get one, that is wonderful, since we are both platinum . You just made my day!

You can, of course, still order them, but you have to pay for one.

At least they charge for the cheaper item. :)

I was not informed of any alternatives. I was simply told I could not order both. Thanks for the info, but I am sure it will change many times before I cruise NCL again.

I cruised Carnival immediately after the Jewel cruise and found that to be a much more pleasant experience. I also have booked three cruises on Princess between now and early May, and have had pleasant experiences on all my past Princess cruises.

That was also the case with NCL until the recent management change, and I have had several unpleasant encounters on NCL recently, so have elected to enjoy my cruises on other lines.
