We will be taking a cruise out of venice in early May. Three stops in Croatia, one in Montenegro, then on to Sicily and Naples, then back to Venice.

Can anyone advise as to how cool the weather will be and what clothing should be worn in ports?

Thanks.

It should be relatively warm. Check weather history for the ports. Bring a light jacket or sweater but I would expect that should be sufficient.

Check any of the 'past weather' sites.

It should be very pleasant -- I wouldn't say "cool". The highs that time of year in Venice are around 70 and lows in the low 50s. Croatia and Montenegro will probably be similar; warmer in Naples and Sicily.

That said, it could be cooler or warmer. The best bet always is to plan on layers. I'd probably choose pants and a 3/4 sleeve shirt, with a cardigan or a lightweight fleece. Bring a good, lightweight rain jacket. If it is cold, you can wear the sweater or fleece under it to keep you warm.

And of course, most important are comfortable walking shoes....!

We left from Venice mid May last year and stayed in Venice 2 days before the cruise. We live in Belgium and would think are somewhat used to the weather ;-).

While the first day was sunny and mild -tshirt and light jacket- we had to dive into a shop on day 2 to buy a jumper. Lucky for us H&M is fair with their prices also in Venice, it would have been a gold plated pullover otherwise.

In early May it might be cool for a few hours in the morning so do bring a light jacket or something to wear that you can also easily remove. We have been on several Med cruises and most recently in May of 2015 in places you have mentioned and that has been our experience.
