stamford57 Posted March 12, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2016 Booking an aft balcony on the Escape today. Never been with NCL before? Which cabin numbers are the best please?
Rare BirdTravels Posted March 12, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2016 (edited) Higher deck. Center. We had an aft balcony the last time we were in the breakaway (sister/cousin to the Escape). We enjoyed the 180 degree views and watching the churn of the ocean below. Have a great cruise! We will be in the escape for the second time in May bee really enjoyed the ship when we sailed on her late last year. stamford57 Posted March 12, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted March 12, 2016 Someone else recommended 12308/12310. Thoughts??
bluefish17 Posted March 12, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2016 I like deck 9, biggest aft balcony of any deck and 1 deck above the waterfront deck. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
jeanderson Posted March 12, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 12, 2016 Someone else recommended 12308/12310. Thoughts?? In researching the Escape cabins, others posts and reviews are indicating deck 12 aft balconies (as well as deck 9) have the "larger" of these balconies. By how much I couldn't say. There are pictures you can view (with subscription) of 12310 on cruisedeckplans.com. Does appear you can have 2 chairs & table along with a lounger out there. Hope this helps
stamford57 Posted March 12, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted March 12, 2016 Any negatives to the afts on the other decks as it looks like my two together on deck 12 have gone?
DDD06 Posted March 12, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 12, 2016 Any negatives to the afts on the other decks as it looks like my two together on deck 12 have gone? The only negative i can think of, if you're a light sleeper and turn in before 12:00 is the bass from the parties in H2O is pretty loud. I would stay below deck 12 if you can. stamford57 Posted March 12, 2016 Author #8 Share Posted March 12, 2016 Are the balconies on 11,10, 9 much smaller than 12?
Two Wheels Only Posted March 12, 2016 #9 Share Posted March 12, 2016 Balcony depth varies depending on deck. Some don't want to be too low or high because of noise or lack of pricacy if too close to the waterfront. I picked 12 on Escape for room configuration (H6), location, & balcony size. stamford57 Posted March 12, 2016 Author #10 Share Posted March 12, 2016 Would deck 11 aft be ok noise and view wise? I'm on the phone to TA now!!
Two Wheels Only Posted March 12, 2016 #11 Share Posted March 12, 2016 Are the balconies on 11,10, 9 much smaller than 12? Deck 9 is larger/deeper than 12.
Lady Anna & Sir Troy Posted March 12, 2016 #12 Share Posted March 12, 2016 I've done a lot of research on this and Deck 9 is the largest followed closely by 12. Despite being above Cagney's, all reviews of Deck 9 say it is very quiet. Reviews of 13 say it is quite small, almost smaller than standard. Deck 13 and above have noise complaints at night from H20. Have looked at Deck 10 and 11 and they look really nice too! Lady Anna

Two Wheels Only Posted March 12, 2016 #15 Share Posted March 12, 2016 I'm on my phone so this is from memory. I have pics at home if I need to correct myself. From largest to smallest, decks are 9,12,15,11,14,10,13. I also have pics of deck 9 in relation to the waterfront.

packer99 Posted March 12, 2016 #17 Share Posted March 12, 2016 My brother was on Dec 14 aft, it was pretty loud from Spice H20 especially at the Glow night.
HighVoltage#9 Posted March 12, 2016 #18 Share Posted March 12, 2016 Is deck 9 overlooked or noisy from the waterfront? No, they can not see you from the waterfront. That area of the waterfront has a covering over it and nothing there ,its just a walkway from one side to the other ,no tables or anything. I'm in a deck 9 aft balcony next week on the Breakaway. That one has "bed by door". I'm not sure what the room next to it has.

janetz Posted March 13, 2016 #25 Share Posted March 13, 2016 (edited) These are not my pics but here is the cabin we had on the BA. It would be the same on the Escape. We have 10 people easy for sail away. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=41612323 Edited March 13, 2016 by janetz
