OVgirl Posted March 31, 2016 #26 Share Posted March 31, 2016 Yes, the ship leaves Rome May 9, the invitation reads, on the eve of the Christening there will be a gala ball, the ship will be overnight in Rotterdam on May 19 an then overnight on the 21st in Amsterdam, if it will be Willem Alexander who does the christening then they won't give more details until closer to these days... I agree that the silence about the christening and godmother/father has to do with security. With all going on in Europe, I guess they don't want all the details out in the public. PeetNL Posted March 31, 2016 #27 Share Posted March 31, 2016 It is normal practice that the agenda of our royal family is announced until shortly beforehand. Carnevale Posted March 31, 2016 #28 Share Posted March 31, 2016 It makes perfect sense that info about who is doing the Christening will be held in confidence due to security. But I don't understand why the other arrangements can't be communicated clearly (e.g., the timing of the events, not who will be there) and why those who got a marketing email know more about the cruise I'm booked on than I do. I do understand it is a new ship with lots of things still being worked out, but things like the plan for there to be a museum event on arrival in Amsterdam was news to me and I don't think that's right. Just that one little piece of info would have made a difference to our planning had it ever been communicated to us by HAL (I still only know as a result of what you kind CC posters have shared). An event like this has to have been in the works for a while given the kind of arrangements with the museum that will be needed, so HAL telling those who are booked on this cruise would be nice. I may get flamed for being frustrated  I just have come to expect a level of service from HAL that I'm not seeing here.
