FlotationDevice Posted March 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2016 After an unfortunate incident many years ago, we're quite security-conscious. On Veendam, our cabin's peephole was useful only to people six feet tall or taller. Over the decades I've shrunk by a couple of inches and could not use that security feature. It appeared to be the case in other cabins on that ship. Is that a problem on all HAL ships? (a disappointing cruise, by the way)
Rare Keith1010 Posted March 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2016 I would post this on the HAL Board. Keith
FlotationDevice Posted March 25, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted March 25, 2016 (edited) As we age, disc compression means we lose height. I'm inches shorter than I was 60 years ago. The design issue and its security consequences are therefore exacerbated for seniors... And I wonder about the issue on other lines. simplelife Posted May 8, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 8, 2016 It 's an issue for me almost everywhere we travel, as I am less than 5 feet tall
Lucy Jane Posted June 11, 2016 #6 Share Posted June 11, 2016 Yes, they aren't for short people - however I've noticed on handicap cabins the peep holes are lower and sometimes there are two - one high and one low Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
