Shaggydoggy Posted March 31, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2016 We are interested in a Panama Canal Cruise in Jan. We love the Caribe deck and there is a cabin C312 which has an even bigger balcony , but concerned as its close to lifts. Anyone experience this location before- think it'll be noisy? Not sure what ship, but that cabin appears to be mid deck with cabins both above and below it, it did not appear that close to the lifts. I have friends who have cruised in rooms right next to the lifts and they have said they never had lift noise, just drunk late evening passengers talking noise. However, even with that warning I believe the cabin is far enough from the lifts to affect you (Island or Sea Princess?)

We love the Caribe deck and there is a cabin C312 which has an even bigger balcony , but concerned as its close to lifts. Anyone experience this location before- think it'll be noisy? Island or Coral? C312 is a fine balcony cabin, only issue may be that your forward view can be blocked by cabin C310. On the other hand your balcony will be protected by cabin C310. We have been close to the lifts on many Princess cruises and never had an issue with noise, and the forward lifts are not as busy as the mid ship lifts. Also, have never experienced noisy drunk passengers on a longer Panama Canal cruise. The excessive drinking usually occurs on short cruises with lots of young passengers (college students). You will not get this passenger demographic in January and not on a 10 or 15 day cruise.
sunsetbeachgal Posted March 31, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 31, 2016 We did a Caribbean cruise on the Coral earlier this year and had a balcony cabin on Caribe deck right by the elevators and stairs, and not a peep! We love being near the elevators and stairs as we use the stairs quite a bit and find it very convenient.
hel0013 Posted March 31, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 31, 2016 Food for thought on your cabin selection... :) Our Panama Canal cruise was from LA to Fort Lauderdale so we chose our cabin on the port side because the majority of the cruise we would have a land view than only seeing water. Friends of ours did the opposite so they chose the Starboard side for the same reason.
Rare Cruise Raider Posted March 31, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 31, 2016 I am just assuming you are referring to this ship or the Coral. We had C315 on the Island on one of our cruises and it was super quiet. Basically, it is right next door and on the other side of the ship. We usually like the aft or even midship but we did really like everything about this room. Noise was never an issue.
