Bringing Wine

First time posting but I have been reading and couldn't find the answer to this.

We will cruising in April with some friends who love good wine and they would like to bring a couple of bottles from their own cellars to celebrate with. Does Regent allow us to bring wine on board at the beginning of the cruise?

Thank you for any help you can provide

Cruise critic article with the info -

In short, yes it is allowed.

From RSSC directly:

On embarkation day, you are permitted to bring unsealed and unopened bottles of wine or champagne to be enjoyed onboard. Alcohol purchased in ports-of-call may be stored and consumed in your suite.

On several cruises I have purchased several bottles of wine while on a shore excursion and brought them back on board with no problem.

You could always call Regent but I really don't think they will object.

Eliza,

Welcome to Regent. There's no problem bringing wine onboard, either at embarkation or at a port. I've brought some wine from home or purchased some at a port numerous times. You can bring wine to any of the restaurants. They will serve your wine without any corkage fees.

Hope this helps.

even before they went all-inclusive you could bring wine (or for us, interesting local beer) on-board. Now if you think about the economics they'd love to have you bring your own wine since that reduces the amount of included wine you'll be drinking.

Slightly off-topic in a reverse kind of way, but I wanted to let you know that at the end of our last cruise we expressed a fondness for a particular wine being featured in the CR and the sommelier offered to give us a bottle or two to take home. We gladly accepted!

Just curious. Why, when Regent is all inclusive, would one want to bring more wine, let alone cases when all is paid for in advance? From current posters, with their OB credits through their wonderful TA you should be able to apply toward premium choices, not carry it with you:rolleyes:

We are celebrating a special birthday and want to bring some very special wine that is not available on the open market.
