I wonder if this isn't a bit like the "riots" in Athens a couple of summers ago. That is, blown out of all proportion by the media. Those who actually were in Athens realized the issues were only in a very specific area, easily avoided.

This is the ferry port which is located across the water from the ships as you can see in the picture. There has never been any indication that the migrants have been anywhere near where the big cruise ships dock.

 

My thoughts exactly.

And that all looks pretty orderly. I could post far far worse photos of Calais, & frighten the living daylights out of tourists.

But Calais is a port I visit frequently & I have never had the tiniest problem.

Now, where did I put my photos of the riots in L.A.? ;)

Good news here:

 

Greek authorities will deport refugees now living in and around the port of Piraeus.
