Sorry, I do not have that information but sure someone will answer soon.

Just wondering if you know, barring any issues handling your own luggage, our public transit system, Skytrain provides a direct link between YVR and Canada place. Hop on right at the airport and emerge just a very short distance from the cruise ship entrance.

Do they accept US$ or credit card?

Does anyone have an updated price for Princess transfers in Vancouver? Thanks.

On our upcoming cruise in May the cost of transfers from ship to Vancouver airport are $24 per person. Hope this helps!

We did the SkyTrain a few years ago. They do take credit cards and it was easy with luggage and we were in are early 70's. The stop you get off will be downhill walking to Canada Place. I don't leave anything to chance so did a search and found photos and detailed descriptions of the process from the airport to Canada Place.

For our transfers to YVR after our SouthBound cruise, I think we plan to use this service.

Seems to offer convenient pick-up and drop-off where needed, and is $15.00 pp.

Here is the page for transfers from the airport to the cruise ship terminal.

For two of you your own cab is basically as cheap as a Princess transfer for one, even if they stay at US$24. Fixed rates from YVR to the pier is CAD$35 (approx US$26 right now, but with exchange rate has been up & down a buck or so lately). Even limos are usually a better deal than cruise transfers! Fixed rates for those start at CAD$67.20 (towncars, up to 4 depending on luggage) to CAD$108.15 (a bigass stretch for 8-10pax) including tax.

If you're three or more people, cabs are cheaper than the shuttle linked above even if you add a very generous tip to the cab fare. Plus total flexiblity in timing. I did notice that the shuttle now seems to offers YVR as a pickup point - they didn't used to, it was only pickups from hotels nearby the airport - so for a solo or couple, the shuttle would be the cheapest option where somebody else handles bags for you.

Skytrain is $9pp inbound ($7.75pp weekends or after 6:30pm on weekdays) due to an airport surcharge. Fastest and cheapest, with plenty of room for bags on the trains, but you do need to be able to handle your bags for that three block walk on the pier end. Actually slightly uphill to the pier, but wide sidewalks and a safe part of town.

In 2013 we used the SkyTrain to easily & inexpensively go from YVR to Canada Place. You board it across from the airport terminal & walk downhill to the ship.

We had a 4:00 PM return flight & took a Princess tour around Vancouver & their beautiful Stanley Park. That ended at about 1:00 at YVR and the price was $49/pp.

We flew non-stop to YVR on the day of the cruise (something we rarely do) and put our Princess tags on our luggage just in case they were misdirected. They didn't arrive on the luggage carousel & a Princess rep said they probably went directly to the ship but there was no way to confirm it. Thankfully they were delivered to our cabin despite not having a Princess transfer. I don't know if that's routine or not but it happened to me. ;)

I would second the idea of taking the skytrain, it starts right at the Airport, and then right into downtown Vancouver, super easy. If you want to take a cab, it will run you about $35 - $40.

I travel to Vancouver all the time, and it is very easy, and quick to get downtown. Sit at the front of the train, and wonder how the heck they do it without a driver.

So is the sky train just as easy to obtain from Canada Place to the airport? What is the procedure after you clear customs in Canada Place how do you get on the skytrain? We will each have a big piece of luggage and a carry-on ,so one for each hand. How often does the skytrain leave from Canada place to the airport?

Thanks.

As long as you can carry or roll your bags three blocks downhill you're good to use Skytrain to the airport. Good news is it's even cheaper outbound - no airport surcharge, so only $4pp ($2.75 on weekends). Trains to the airport run about every six minutes - it's every second train (destination is on the front, as well as the signs at the platform, either YVR or Richmond).

The only potentially-confusing part is that the first entrance you see, basically right outside Canada Place on Howe St, goes to the wrong platform (there are other lines going eastward). Ignore it, then take the next left onto Cordova Street. Keep going down here to Waterfront Station - nice big easy-to-spot brick thing with columns out front and lots of doors.

Buy tickets with CAD cash or credit cards at the machines - you want a Two Zone ticket per person, you can buy multiple at once. Once you have the tickets, head to the Canada Line platform - take the elevator if you won't have free hands for the escalator. Check signs for which train is next - it's end of the line so you don't need to worry about direction of travel, just that the train says YVR on the front.

Roll your bags on, tuck them under the seat or in front of your legs (extra legroom and higher seats specially designed for luggage on this line), and wait until you run out of track! There are three stops on Sea Island - the first two are no use to airport passengers, you want the end of the line again.

Hi, Just purchased them yesterday for our May 6th cruise, they were $24.. per person , round trip.

$24 per person round trip is not bad at all. Definitely cheaper than a taxi but more expensive than the train. However with the transfers you don't have to worry about carting your luggage around. Thanks jansarts! :)

Thanks, great detailed info.. Yes I would want an accessible entry,no escalator

or stairs with a large check in bag and a rollerboard bag. They have wheels so no problem there.
