We're not on Regatta now. However, when we were on Marina in Jan. the cruise director was Ray Carr (excellent, I thought). He told us that, after a vacation, he was going to be on Regatta, so perhaps that's who is CD now.

Not sure, but when we asked if he'd be on Regatta in late September for the Montreal to NYC cruise, he said yes.

Ray Carr is on the Insignia world cruise. He joined that ship in Singapore in the middle of March.

The captain has not run aground or sunk the ship so I guess he is doing a good job ;)

The bigger question is - how are things in general (besides the bed rug :D).

Is it the "old" Oceania or the "new" one - if you know what I mean :)

Captain Maksym Melnikov was the captain on our Amazon Adventure in Nov 2015 and we absolutely loved him.

 

His noon reports were not only interesting, but he has a wicked, wry sense of humor that had a number of cruisers laughing out loud around the pool deck on those sea days.

 

I am keeping my fingers crossed he will still be on Regatta for our 12 day cruise to Alaska in June.

Thanks for the mention of Ray Carr on the World Cruise, Sr. Citizen. I forget how long that cruise is, but I guess it's over by the end of September and we'll see Ray again for New England. He claims he'll remember my husband's name. We'll see.

 

LHT, we loved Mayan Mystique itinerary. Not your usual Caribbean crawl.
