Freedom ot Seas Revamp Fizzed Out

Recommended Posts

This ship is very impressive. Everything was in top shape except the main reasons we booked this particular cruise.

The new Tidal Wave ride was closed. We heard it opened for one day in March after the re-launch of the ship and was closed due to safety concerns. The rafts were flipping over. We didn't find this out until we were standing next to it. My kids were sad.

So off to the two new racing slides we went. These things are painfully slow. I could have walked down the stairs backwards and beat my kids to the bottom. I tried both of them and they were boring. My kids were even sadder.

Sure the flowrider worked. The pools were OK. The new splash park was cool for tiny tots. In fact everything (except the Chops Grille) met our expectations of a typical RC ship.

Our problem was the advertising billed these great new rides that either under performed or were closed. I have gotten great honest info from these boards so I felt obligated to share our experience.

Bottom Line - It's a great ship but the "rides" are not!

PS: the horseback riding in Falmouth Jamaica (Braco Stables via Shoretrips) was lame. Many better options exist!

Might want to go and correct the title of your thread since you weren't on Freedom of the Seas.
