Dinner Seating Times

I booked a last minute cruise for the month of May and in reviewing my booking I note we are wait listed for early dining. My husband is recuperating from Chemo and while he rebuilds his strength he goes to bed rather early and would never stay awake through the late dinner seating. Is this something I could call Customer Service with and request either early or open seating? Or do I have to just hope we will be assigned to an early dinner time?

can you pick anytime? that would solve your problem

 

if not, you can email the matre'd or go directly to the matre'd when you get on the ship and tell them. most of the time there is no problem

Most of the time, you can talk to the Maitre'd onboard and get your preferred time. Unfortunately that is one of the downsides about booking last minute, the preferred dining times can be gone.

The buffet is always available and usually not crowded and you don't have to share a table. I loved it up there, and the sunset was spectacular (which I wouldn't have seen had I been at my assigned table that evening!)

Check your "Sign-n-Sail" card when you board, as you may well get assigned early dining, with no problem. If not, I too suggest that you stop by the dining room, (check with Guest Services, or take a look at the Fun Times to see when, and where the Maitre'd will be taking request for dining preferences). I'd bet that especially under the circumstances, you'll be able to snag that early dining table.

Every time I have been wait listed, I've received my preferred time.

If you don't, then see the MaitreD when you board. Worst case scenario is you only have to do late the first night. (Which you could do ATD instead, and still dine early)

You do have special circumstances, they should be able to accommodate you. How soon is the cruise? Try emailing thr matre'd.

Thank you for the information. We usually book far in advance but with this medical situation we are just at a place that makes travel possible and not knowing what the future holds, wanted to book a trip now rather than later.
