Are you and to deposit dollars as soon as you get on board to use as credit?

I would rather do this than credit card details?

Or cash and credit card as back up if needed?

It's your choice to use a cash account or a credit card account or combination. If you choose a cash account, Royal does not require you to deposit cash up front. You can charge up to $500 before they ask you to pay it down. You can pay it down with cash or credit card.

Thank-you. Don't go until October but have been purchasing dollars in advance.

This is slightly off the original topic but somewhat related. So from my reading it seems if you do a cash account for your sign and sail you can then get cash in the casino without the 5% charge. So could I buy onboard credit before I go using a credit card (to get cash back) and then access that money as cash in the casino without the fee? Alternatively could I go with the cash account at embarkation...pull out cash as needed in the casino without the fee and then top it off with a credit card(again cash back) while onboard. Thanks for clarifying.

Here's another question. If we have $200 OBC from Royal, which will cover tips, then is our only alternative to withdraw from the casino with the 5% or With the OBC should we just declare a CASH account?

Only OBC withdrawal incurs a fee....If you need cash for the casino...don't put it on your account...just keep it in your room safe for gambling expenses!

I would just do a cash account, and add funds to it as needed...keep your cash in your safe...and don't pay 5% to make use of your own money!!!

If I use a credit card for my on board expenses, can I go to the desk each day and payoff the amount with cash? So at the end of cruise nothing is being charged to the credit card?

You can pay it down any time you want, although lines can be long the last night.

Is a "cash account" something you setup onboard or did I miss this at online checkin? Yikes I'm confused?!?!

It is an option at online checkin. If you missed it, you can tell them at the pier that you want to switch to a cash account.

And if it's missed at the pier, it can be done at Guest Services onboard.
