HI-C-Dubs Posted May 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2016 So I thought maybe I should download the Princess @ Sea app to check it out, but I can't seem to find it on the US iTunes store, and the link on the Princess site says it's "not available for your region"... Anyone know if this still works? Or has Princess given up on their app?
Clampram Posted May 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2016 Just used it several weeks ago on the Regal. I got access thru the ships intranet which linked me to Princess at Sea. Very helpful for watching your bill and daily events
clueless2 Posted May 7, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 7, 2016 I don't see it on Google Play either.
Rare Steelers0854 Posted May 7, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 7, 2016 The app only provided the login window which is the same as the web version. If for some reason it's been removed from the App Store you simply need to use your web browser to log in.
cherylandtk Posted May 7, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 7, 2016 The app is superfluous; all it did was access the onboard intranet page which you can do with your browser.

Sacto Rick Posted May 7, 2016 #7 Share Posted May 7, 2016 I downloaded it for our cruise and it wouldn't work with our Galaxy 5's. The ships mgr of the internet cafe said that it was a problem with these phones. I don't know if they fixed it or not. We were disappointed. Just browser is fine? We found it very useful. You could create connections with members of your party then easily message them, all or one at a time. I would be disappointed if it didn't work in the future. We all had iPhones so our compatibility may have helped.
pablo222 Posted May 7, 2016 #9 Share Posted May 7, 2016 So you don't even need it? Just browser is fine? Your browser is all you need. The app let you log in, and then re-directed you to the browser. This used to to be the android version: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=com.gcm.princess.messenger Gone, now. Maybe a new and improved version is upcoming! brianlojeck Posted May 7, 2016 #10 Share Posted May 7, 2016 Everything the app did was really done by the ship's website.
IECalCruiser Posted May 7, 2016 #11 Share Posted May 7, 2016 (edited) So you don't even need it? Just browser is fine? You don't need an app to access any of the Princess@Sea features including Messenger. Everything is accessed through the intranet web page. ar1950 Posted May 7, 2016 #12 Share Posted May 7, 2016 The last time I asked about the downloadable app I was told it was too buggy too often so it was removed from the app stores. It is not necessary on the ships. You only need your browser to login.

The adding friends and messaging is being down by a browser talking to the intranet, the app was not involved.
easyboy Posted May 8, 2016 #14 Share Posted May 8, 2016 So you don't even need it? Just browser is fine? No need for the app. If you have problem accessing the intranet onboard, the internet staff can help you.

satxdiver Posted May 8, 2016 #16 Share Posted May 8, 2016 We were on the Caribbean P in March and the ap did not work on our droid. We used the browser. My guess is that the ap has been consigned to the trash heap where it most likely belongs.

jelenedra Posted May 8, 2016 #18 Share Posted May 8, 2016 So even though you don't pay for internet minutes, you can use the ships WiFi to access the Princess website for no charge?

SadieN Posted May 8, 2016 #20 Share Posted May 8, 2016 (edited) For those who want a one button choice--- On iPhones you can have add any web page to your home screen. Click on the (blue) square icon with the arrow then, Click on the (dark grey) square icon with the + labeled Add to Home Screen. Jasperdo Posted May 9, 2016 #25 Share Posted May 9, 2016 (edited) We used Princess@Sea on both our phone and tablet on our recent Ruby Princess cruise. We didn't need to use the app. The instructions in the Princess Patter were as follows: 1) Turn your device on airplane mode. 2) Connect to the ship's wi-fi (Ruby-Princess). 3) Type in ruby.princess.com on your browser and enjoy Princess@Sea. It was that simple, and worked fine on both the phone and tablet. Edited May 9, 2016 by Jasperdo
