Royal Caribbean Star Class Genie

Hi there

we just got back from a week on the Allure we had a 2 bedroom Aqua suite so the STar class was wonderful. Yes our genie sent us an email about 2 weeks before asking us for our show & dining reservation. He gave us the Loop app link.. you need to sign in so you can access the genie on the ship by your phone. this was a great way to let the Genie know what we needed. There were several nights that we changed our dining time in the specialty restaurants and it was SOO wonderful to not have to worry about getting in... (we eat early so it wasnt a problem) if your looking to eat after 7 you may have a problem making changes on the ship.. so think thru your plans before he contacts you otherwise you can just let him make the reservations & you can be surprised! another amazing part of the genie service was getting good seats in the shows. We were asked to get there 15 minutes early but each night we had the most optimum view of the shows saved personally by our genie.Of course I would pay for this star service JUST for the getting on and off the ship. you save hours in line going thru customs and really feel like the Star!! we tipped our guy $400 there was 4 of us in the room with an additional $50 when I totally forgot to pick up my Pictures and he got them on the last day for us. we didnt really need the conceirge so I felt that $400 was very fair for what he did for us throughout the week!! we also gave our tips to our room steward and each night at the specialty rest... since there was no tips on our bill. Definitely had no problem being generous since the service was AMAZING!! Have a blast!!

We are leaving on the Oasis soon. Our Genie did contact us about 2 weeks ahead of time and has made us dinner and show reservations every night. I'm curious to know how much everyone tipped their Genie at the end of their cruise? Thanks :)

 

We have $100 per person for the Genie. Your cabin steward also works hand in hand with the Genie and we tipped them over and above the prepaid tips. With the Genie we don't tip the concierge as we no longer need their assistance.

Hi,

 

I have a concern regarding the Genie service. We are travelling 2/25 on Harmony in a 2br Aquasuite. We

have received the questionnaire but as of today we have not been contacted by the Genie. I'm concerned

about getting the dinner times in the specialty restaurants we desire to go to. Will the Genie be able to

book the times we want to go ? Will he/she be able to also include non-suite guests in our reservation ?

We are considering the Chef's Table and I am worried that we will not have availability to book that.

We are in a 2BR AQ suite on Harmony sailing 2/18. We received an email from the Genie on 2/9 and I replied the same day however I have not heard anything back. No email with the loop link either.... Hoping to get a response today since it has been 4 days. I know they are busy with current passengers but even a quick reply would be great. Like you, I am mostly concerned about the dinner reservations I requested. Sailing in 5 days.....

So far I am not impressed with this situation with the genie. This is very frustrating wondering when a response will come. To not hear anything at 4 days prior to sailing is just unacceptable in my mind. People I've talked to keep telling me not to worry about reservations, they say it's what the genie's do and they'll take care of it. Maybe I shouldn't be skeptical but if the times are full already, what are they going to do ? I don't see why royal can't update their reservation system so as a star class guest you can just make a reservation like normal with no charge. I'm not going to be a happy camper if I can't get a resrevation that fits into my schedule.

 

We are in 10330 sailing 2/25.

I am currently on Harmony in a 2 BR ATS (8330).

 

I too was very concerned when I did not get my person email from my Genie nor my loop connection in what I considered to be a reasonable length of time. I was concerned, as you seem to be, about reservations and other coordination.

 

Let me put your mind at ease. Never, in my life, have I received more personal, responsive service than I have with our Royal Genie. I don't even know how to verbalized the amount of personalized attention that we have received. We are traveling with friends who are in a Sky Loft suite on 17. Their Genie is Alexandra. Ours is Reyno. If your Genie is either of these, you will be incredible hands. I do not know the third Genie onboard but I'm sure he/she is just as wonderful. Alex and Reyno have played a tag team of services that is absolutely unbelievable. Not a single request of any kind has been questioned or denied.

 

We've had impromptu parties that they have catered, we have had last minute food and drink deliveries, personal escorts all over the ship and countless calls to clarify procedures or special requests. Dinner reservations ? You have no concerns. They can get you in anywhere at any time.

 

I urge you to relax. You will have time of your life and will never ever want to cruise w/o a Genie again. Believe me.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your fabulous vacation to respond on this thread. You have reassured me that any concerns that I may have had about everything being taken care of are misplaced. I hope you have a fabulous rest of your cruise!!! We are soooo excited about ours next week. Cheers!

Hi Bob. I sailed in the same cabin back in Jan and I didn't hear from the genie until a few days prior to sailing (there was a mixup with the primary contact email). After a few frantic days of trying to track him down, we were able to get a hold of one another. Since he didn't hear from us, the genie took it upon himself to prebook all our dinner reservations at the specialty restaurants. I asked him to change it around once I saw it (since we needed earlier times) but I appreciated the foresight. The genie was able to get us all the reservations for restaurants, tours and shows as promised. I used the LOOP app while onboard but the most efficient way to get a hold of him was by phone. Have a great time!

HI there

dont worry the Genies are very busy with their current customers.. believe me they are amazing when you are on the ship!!! the week before they will call and get signup with the Genie app and also get all your reservations. there will be no problem getting your reservations. we had to change one of our reservations on the ship and the genie made it happen!! he got us the best seats in the house for every show & got us into the comedy show even without reservations.. front row seats.. Dont fear I was in your shoes once you are anxious & excited but if you think about it you will want your genie all to yourself for your special week it will help you wait!!! Thank you all for responding. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions. Your responses make me feel better and I'll sit back relaxed and wait patiently for the next 10 days. Looking forward to getting away from the 2 ft. of snow in my yard.

Just an update....we sail in 2 days and I still have not received any reply to my email that was sent in reply to the initial Genie email on 2/9 and no Loop link. I am sure that everything will work out and it will be a lovely experience, however, RCI advertises communication prior to the cruise and therefore that is what people expect. Like I said, I am sure it will all work out but it has been disappointing up to this point. The pre-cruise communication is supposed to be one of the perks....

Please keep us posted when you return to how it went and who your Genie is. We sail on her mid March so I am curious. I have a feeling once you get on the ship things will/should go smooth but I can bet that this isn't leaving you at a positive feeling so far.

Flying out today and still zero communication regarding our requests for reservations or anything else. Our genie is Reyno which we found out from the initial email sent 8 days ago. But now no communication regarding meeting us at the port at any particular time and no link to LOOP. I guess we will show up at the Star class area tomorrow and see what happens. Even if the cruise ends up going well, this has definitely left a bad taste in our mouths regarding the Star Class service. I will be putting these comments on my survey at the end of the cruise.
