anthonyy7 Posted May 22, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 22, 2016 Are you planning on making your own way there from the ship? The longest lines are to buy tickets so you can buy your tickets ahead of time or over at the entrance to the forum/palatine hill since the same ticket is used for the the Colosseum. Rare SpainAlien Posted May 22, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 22, 2016 The best way to see Rome is Rome in Limo, we used them last year and it was great. We got off the ship and they were waiting for us, no messing about with the shuttle bus off the dock then waiting at the bus station for the bus back to the train station. They take you straight to the highlights of Rome, they can even arrange a guide for the Vatican. You get to see so much more than trying to do it on your own. Assuming there isn't enough in your party to fill a minibus go the their tour sharing website and join one of the groups https://www.romeinlimotoursharing.com/ Hope this helps
WupperAV Posted May 27, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 27, 2016 Keep your wallet in a fanny pack, in front under a shirt. Pack of thieves there. You can marry an Italian like I did and then it's free.
diane.in.ny Posted May 28, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 28, 2016 Hope you know that it will take a minimum of an hour to get from the cruise port into Rome .... Using Rome in Limo tour sharing is an excellent suggestion. We used them for 3 ports of call in Italy.

They will move you point to point very efficiently, and take very good care of you.
GoVikes Posted June 8, 2016 #8 Share Posted June 8, 2016 Rome in Limo was fantastic--we used them in all of our ports in Italy. I highly recommend them.
