jlawler Posted May 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2016 This is my first cruise on RCI. How expensive is Giovanni's if you do not have a dining package? I assume it is then charged to your Sea Pass card. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Clarea Posted May 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Last time I heard, it was $25 per person for dinner, charged to your SeaPass card.
Royal2464 Posted May 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 26, 2016 $25 is correct, paid that price on Sunday night.
Eriksgarden Posted May 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Giovanni's on Allure was one of my favorite meals on any cruise. The Osso bucco was exceptional.
OCruisers Posted May 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Giovanni's is well worth the $25 pp. :D
atnolan94 Posted May 26, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 26, 2016 I've hear Giovannis and Sabor are more than worth it on Allure. Our TA gave us free dinner at Chops but may see if she can switch it to Giovannis.

Also, the portions were large; way more than tapas.
thejewgernaut Posted May 27, 2016 #8 Share Posted May 27, 2016 I've long thought Giovanni's is the best value for specialty dining on the ship. Excellent pastas, a really good steak if you like steak, and awesome desserts. We always go for our first night and enjoy dining outdoors.
pharaoh Posted May 27, 2016 #9 Share Posted May 27, 2016 Giovanni's is excellent, as is Sabor. I also enjoyed 150 Central Park when I went there last year. In fact the only speciality restaurant on Allure I would not return to is Samba.

minn0315 Posted May 27, 2016 #11 Share Posted May 27, 2016 Remember that they serve lunch on sea days. The famous lasagna is usually only available at lunch. The price is about one half of the dinner charge. If we eat there for lunch, we are stuffed and have no room for dinner that evening.
marcyjane Posted June 7, 2016 #12 Share Posted June 7, 2016 Do you have to dress up for lunch on sea days to go to Giovannis. Thanks
Royal2464 Posted June 7, 2016 #13 Share Posted June 7, 2016 I usually wear a pair of slacks and a pull over when going there for lunch, but I'm pretty sure I saw some guys in there last week wearing shorts. Just ask the hostess if it is okay for shorts at lunch.

KGSB11 Posted June 7, 2016 #15 Share Posted June 7, 2016 (edited) Do you have to dress up for lunch on sea days to go to Giovannis. Thanks We dined on Embarkation day for lunch and no one was wearing long pants. That being said, the few people that were there were dressed nicely in that I didn't see any athletic/casual/Jorts being worn. (Side note: my avatar is from said Giovanni's lunch). This is my same plan on Saturday...khaki-type shorts and a collared shirt for sail-away. Edited June 7, 2016 by KGSB11

Rare silentbob007 Posted June 8, 2016 #17 Share Posted June 8, 2016 Standard "lunch" MDR dress code for Giovanni's at lunch ... no bathing suits, etc, but shorts are fine.
WeBCruisin Posted June 8, 2016 #18 Share Posted June 8, 2016 Does anyone recall if the Scallop/Risotto is on the lunch menu at Giovanni's?
39august Posted June 8, 2016 #19 Share Posted June 8, 2016 No, not on LB in May. Have to go to dinner for that.
WeBCruisin Posted June 8, 2016 #20 Share Posted June 8, 2016 No, not on LB in May. Have to go to dinner for that. [emoji20] Family cruise so we are all expected to dine in the MDR each night as a group. Still irritated as they removed the scallop/risotto from the MDR menu - therefore I was hoping to catch it at Giovanni's.
