Boytjie Posted May 27, 2016 #26 Share Posted May 27, 2016 (edited) Not sure if access to the bow is available all the time. I know it is for Glacier Bay (and the Panama Canal locks). Back in 2007 on the Amsterdam it was open coming into Juneau as well as Sitka and in Glacier Bay, of course. Rare Copper10-8 Posted May 27, 2016 Author #33 Share Posted May 27, 2016 John, what is "running spring" about? The first lines ashore, fwd and aft, are "spring lines", they act like breaks and, by 'heaving' on them, can also move the ship ahead and astern for short distances to line up the gangway and clear any bollards
Rare Vict0riann Posted May 27, 2016 #34 Share Posted May 27, 2016 (edited) Really early in Juneau, it looks like the tourist kiosks are not staffed yet. But I did see the tramway going up the mountain. Looks like a couple of the ropes got tangled. Edited May 27, 2016 by Vict0riann
