Rushed - Transfer from Civitavecchia to Rome

Thank you to fellow cruise critic members, we were able to find some companies that offered transfer service for June 9, 2016. However, both RomeCab and Rome Chauffeurs were fully booked that day already :(

 

Also contacted Civitavecchia Cab service for shared shuttle, waiting for their response.

 

Have considered Rome In Limo, not too comfortable to provide credit card and deposit and not sure if they have availability either.

 

Oceania, our cruise, indicated that the transfers were sold out.

 

Would anyone have any other suggestions for us to try? We are getting desperate :confused:

We would not hesitate to give Rome In Limo the required info. They have an excellent reputation (just do a search here to read all the positive posts). If you have not already done so, you should post your transfer situation on the CC Roll Call thread for your specific cruise. It is possible that there are others who have already arranged a transfer and have room for more. Why would a company send a car/driver to the port (giving up the opportunity to sell their services elsewhere) without demanding some kind of deposit or credit card guarantee?

Agree with Hank- Rome in Limo is a very reputable company.

 

That being said, it is a little late in the game to be trying to book these types of companies. You may just have to take a taxi.

I used http://www.civitavecchiashuttleservices.com with good results. Their prices are very reasonable

We have found http://www.romashuttle.com to be very reliable and well priced. You do have to give a credit card guarantee but this seems to be standard.

I wouldn't worry about Rome in Limo either. They are an American company based in Florida, so if you have any issues the jurisdiction is local.

We have used Roma Shuttle for a private transfer 4 times and they have been excellent every time.

Several years ago we used Driver in Rome for a transfer and several excursions. They were excellent in all respects.

Most of the companies we have dealt with including Rome Cabs require a credit card so that if you don't show up they will charge you. Otherwise we paid on the day with cash. I wouldn't worry about that.

 

Personally I would avoid a shared shuttle.
