Breakaway Deck 14 Aft Noise!

Hello fellow cruisers-

We are contemplating staying in one of the corner H6 Aft Penthouse suites on Deck 14. Our preference would have been to stay on Decks 9 or 10 (which has larger balconies) - but the only H6 available right now is on Deck 14. I have searched through the forum and haven't yet heard enough definitive answers on the possible noise from the upper decks - particularly the night club on Deck 16 I believe. I am primarily interested in the noise level - in the cabin - at night time. We don't mind the noise on the deck too much. But, we are all light sleepers and the 'thump, thump' of the night club would be an issue. Can anyone that has stayed on Deck 14 comment on this issue?

Thanking you all in advance.

Sounds like noise is indeed an issue on Deck 14 aft. I am wondering if it makes any difference in the corner cabins!? Otherwise, I think we will keep looking to get on a lower deck.

Definitely look to a lower deck. I was in cabin 14276 last April and the room would vibrate from the SpiceH2O every night. It would wake my daughter up every night. Beautiful balcony but if you go to bed before 11p look to a lower deck

We had an aft balcony on the 14th deck on the Breakaway and it was very noisy. It did keep us awake at night. Never again.

We too had an aft cabin on deck 10 heard the noise but it was tolerable on deck 10 even with door open, while we would book this deck again we are done with big ships.

I just sailed on the Breakaway in an aft balcony on 12. Crazy noise!! I think it stopped between midnight and 1 am. I'd actually sailed in this same cabin multiple times before - but on those cruises I was staying out late in the casino so I'd never had to deal with it. A few nights during this cruise I was back in my cabin at 10 pm and the walls seemed to be pounding from the bass of the music. Really bad if you want to sleep before midnight and are light sleepers.

I had an aft suite booked for June 2017 on 12 - when I got back I immediately switched it to deck 9!

  • 6 months later...

i'm updating all the spice noise threads i've watched over the past few months. i stayed in 13290 which is about 6 from the rear. on the balcony the music is very clear. inside you just hear a bit of the bass thumping. it was noticeable but never bothered me.

We stayed on deck 13 aft. If your balcony door is closed, you can hear the bass thumping and hear the DJ talking, but not what he is saying, if that makes sense. If your door is open a crack, party, party, party. The next time, we booked on Deck 10 - but balcony was smaller. No great fix....
