deck 8

I see on the Escape deck 8 that there are some nice places to just sit. Are they on both sides of just on side.

It's called The Waterfront. It does wrap around the front of the ship, but does not go all the way around at the aft. Lots of nice padded couches and chairs. Shade depending on time of day and which side you're on. Some of the Specialty restaurants on 8 have dining areas that extend out onto the Waterfront for evening dining. Also some bars which have outside seating here.

Portside, nice with no smokers hanging outdoors on the Waterfront. But, starboard side, someone else can confirm that they can light up a storm, except cigars ... and - a big no, no - the funny weeds that we smelled from our balcony above on a late night (on the sister ship, BA)

During the day, you can use the restaurant tables to sit and watch the water and watch the people strolling along the waterfront. I think that Pinchos Tapas Bar is the only restaurant that does outside lunch service. Folks sit, read, write, play games at the tables. The comfy chairs are in high demand, but do turn over. We spent a lot of time on the waterfront during our Escape cruise a few weeks back.
