Thunderstorms when in port. What to do?

Weather forecasts are calling for thunderstorms. I know weather changes fast in this region, but I am a planner. If my snorkeling with rays is cancelled, suggestions for what to do in the rain with 3 boys 7, 11 and 13???

Rain comes, rain goes. No problem.

All I see on international forecasts is light scattered showers. Your excursion shouldn't be cancelled. But if it is, you are at the downtown pier. Lots of shops, restaurants, etc. there. Your kids would enjoy Margaritaville, albeit a tad expensive. Thirsty Cougar is another spot. But several places along the waterfront there.

Hurricane season runs from JUNE to OCTOBER.... expect during that timeframe a shower or two every single day. It rarely lasts more than a hour, usually less. I have been going to Cozumel once or twice a year, for week long vacations, for the past 15+ years.... never once had it rain more than a few hours in a single day, and that was usually overnight.

 

on our cruise in Oct a few years ago.... forecast said rain. It was cloudy in port, we arrived at Money bar for the day, it rained a huge dowpour for about an hour, sun came out and gorgeous the rest of port time. Seriously, not a problem.

 

Sun, rain, sun, rain, sun..... expect it off and on with the sun being more prevalent.

I usually ride out thunderstorms at the swim-up bar; you're already wet! One more margarita can't hurt, right?

It is the Caribbean. It rains almost every day. Normal. Rain... then sunny.... then a shower.... then the sun. All within a few hours. Normal.
