chenj78 Posted June 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2016 (edited) On the Allure and we dock in St. Kitts tomorrow. Can anyone recommend some beach options close to the cruise port? How long of a ride? Are taxis available? How much? Are they readily available to return? Thanks in advance! Will also post in the port forum. Rare Cruise Raider Posted June 16, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 16, 2016 There is a beautiful beach at the Marriott, which is over by where the two seas meet. Last time there, the casino at the Marriott would take you there by shuttle for free ... they even claim you need not gamble but just go out to the beach. OCruisers Posted June 16, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 16, 2016 None within walking distance. Take a taxi or when you board book a beach excursion thru the ship. Enjoy! :)

We had to pay $35 to use their facilities (beach, chairs, umbrellas, pool, wifi) and pay for our own transportation, and we spent some time in the casino. It's a very nice resort. heartscontent Posted June 16, 2016 #6 Share Posted June 16, 2016 I would highly recommend taking a taxi to Carambola Beach Club on Friars Bay. You can reserve chairs and an umbrella ahead by sending an email to info@carambolabeachclub.net. Last time we were there, chairs were $10 each and an umbrella was $10. This is a lovely resort with cushy chairs, a nice restaurant and immaculate restrooms. You can get less expensive chairs down the beach at Shipwreck Bar if that is your preference. That would be my choice too. Here are a couple of shots from March:

chenj78 Posted June 21, 2016 Author #10 Share Posted June 21, 2016 We ended up going to South Friars Beach. Just under 15-minutes away by taxi and beautiful. This was the postcard looking Caribbean Beach we were looking for. The sand was perfect, water clear and warm, new-ish and well maintained restaurant and bar onsite. Chairs and umbrellas were available forms charge. The taxi ride cost $24 each way for 7 adults and 2 kids. Highly recommended.
