Do you have any MSC Divina questions?

Thank you again Bermuda.......it's so very awesome that you are answering all these questions! I sure hope you are having an awesome time!! I will do the best I can with the provided blow dryer.......I do have very thick hair but it's short, so hopefully I can manage!!!!

I do have another question. My husband and I enjoy dancing. We aren't really "ball room" dancers but we like to cha cha, East Coast Swing, Shag, etc....are there bands or DJ's that play songs like Blurred Lines, Let's Get Loud, Forget You, Sugar by Maroon Five, Boogie Shoes, Smooth and the like......thank you so much for taking the time to answer questions!!!

You're welcome. I did not bring my own- I'm not picky about the hair dryer. My hair is long so most of the time I just pin it up wet. I'd say it's about as strong as a 1200 unit. It will do that trick unless your hair is super thick :)

There must be a better way - second MSC muster, second cluster. Yacht club is held in piano bar and was more crowded than black and white lounge muster.

Do you happen to remember what time this chaos started (ie. what time was muster)? :D

Sitting in st Martin :). To answer a few questions - there is dancing but not sure about those particular songs. Haven't seen Putra since embarkation but if I see him I'll warn him for you Kim :). Muster was at 4:30. Lasted 35 minutes. Social media package does not work with tapatalk or cruise critic. Below are my notes from Sunday and Monday. I'll be able to get wifi again tomorrow in San Juan so if you have any more questions (or if I missed any) feel free to ask (again) :).

Sunday June 19th: Random Notes

1) The social package does not include tapatalk or cruise critic. It does include Facebook which is how I'm staying in touch with family. I'll only be posting my random notes to cruise critic when I hook back up with wifi.

2) There is no more match play. We are the first sailing with this discontinued promotion. Roulette table was $5 minimum last night which seems higher than two months ago. Slots not friendly today.

3) Really enjoying relaxing in top sail this morning. Laid back vibe- makes for an entirely different experience. "Ship within a ship" concept is bang on.

4) Did not attend show last night. Remember is as just ok from April sailing. Will attend Mask tonight.

5) Did not eat at le muse last night. Instead ordered late night pizza from eataly. Nice complimentary touch for yacht club. In all honesty, I didn't feel that pizza was ridiculously better than the buffet pizza, but in fairness we didn't order one of their specialities- we tried to get just mushroom and onions but that was "not possible" so we had just cheese. Will try a speciality pizza later in trip I'm certain.

6) Service is very pleasant, but not in your face. Even in the yacht club you must make eye contact in order to get service. All servers are very nice; but in truth I don't find them any faster than service outside of the yacht club. In one pool this afternoon we ordered drinks at the bar. Bartender encouraged me to go sit down assuring he would bring drinks. A good 40 minutes later-No drinks. I ordered from from the roaming waiter poolside. That took about 15 minutes and he forgot my friends water (all she ordered). All in all, after an hour plus we had one drink and one bottled water. In fairness to the bartender he apologized profusely for forgetting our order when he saw me later. There was only one roaming waiter in one bar. There were more roaming waiters near the infinity pool last March. Tip- there is much better service at one pool starboard than port since the bar itself is also port side.

7) Ended up navigating the buffet for lunch as I wanted a nice salad and there isn't a salad bar in one pool or topsail. Let's just say the difference in atmosphere is ASTOUNDING! Once you leave YC it's like you have entered an urban city at rush hour. I enjoyed making a lovely salad (with pine nuts and cranberries, yum) and retreating immediately back to peace and quiet.

8) Another cavet about one pool is that there is zero shade in loungers. I had read that the tinted wind breaks at the front of the ship provided shade but found that an overstatement at best. There is umbrella shade at the smoking tables port side, over 1/2 of the pool itself, and over the entire one bar area; but no shade over loungers. MSC if you are listening this would be an easy fix in dry dock.

9) For the person asking about steps into the pool it is 8 steps up and 4 steps on the ladder to enter the pool. It is not at all slippery, but hot with bare feet. I do think you will be able to navigate in a boot cast.

10) Saw mask again. Show was actually a little bit different than just a few months ago- or my memory is failing (distinct possibility). Lack of live musicians does not take away from enjoyment. Partial standing ovation.

11) Our dinner in LeMuse had terrific service once again, but main dish was disappointing. Scallop appetizer was fabulous. I ordered surf and turf. Filet mignon and prawns. Prawns were a bit mushy and the steak seemed of lower quality than filet. It was cooked to perfection. Tarimuso excellent. Jackamo and Daniel were attentive and inquired why we did not eat in LeMuse first evening. Waiter and assistant very personable.

12) All in all I would say we had an wonderful first day. Low lites (food at dinner, one pool bar service, and lack of shade) were far outnumbered by highlights (peace and quiet, entertainment, peace and quiet, no need to reserve chairs, peace and quiet, top sail lounge, peace and quiet). You get the picture.

Monday June 20th-

1) Awoke to no power in cabin. Trip to concierge fixed issue by the time I was dressed. Something tells me that may not have been fixed so quickly outside of YC.

2) No treadmill available at 7:30 so I ended up walking the loop on deck 15. Was surprised lots of chairs still available when I finished at 8:15. Those would have been claimed by 8:15 in April.

3) The sewer smell at infinity pool is a bit stronger than I remember. My guess is there is a sewer vent nearby because I've read about (and experienced) this smell aft on deck 15 more than once.

4) One pool has scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage for breakfast, but I wanted eggs over easy and fruit so we went to the buffet. Still like the way they cut the fruit on MSC- pieces are small so the taste marinates.

5) Spent day totally relaxing. Hot tub, pool, lounger, repeat. Surprised how many children are staying in YC. At one point there were 7 kids in one pool but all VERY well behaved.

6) First time we've seen victor since embarkation was at high tea. I have a feeling our neighbors are keeping him really busy. He is a delight though.

7) Show was "voices". Did not attend this show last April. It was good. Another partial standing ovation.

8) We were not in the mood for big long dinner so went to buffet after show for a nice salad. MSC does a very good salad bar. Low and behold I found prime rib! I had to try it and this was the best cut of meat I've had on MSC. I was disappointed that there was no prime last April (as this is something I only eat on a cruise and looked forward to) so this was a nice surprise and positive addition. Bravo MSC.

9) low lites: none worth mentioning- great day. High lites: high tea experience, prime rib on buffet, casino friendly.

Every morning I've had this yummy mocha latte in top sail- such an amazing way to low stress- so quiet. Table service (unlike outside of YC). They also have these yummy treats in the morning 66200f1286791a1db4eb4dd2a877a916.jpg099f782075a1c01de55486b3cf5a7411.jpg

I find it interesting that either NCL or Princess, I dont remember which one, does not require you to bring your life jacket to the muster. They say too many people are likely to trip over the straps while going back to their cabins.. Its soooo much better that way..:D:D:D

High tea was fun

That was a great photo. Is high tea only served in YC?

Also thank you for checking what was available at the pool side omelette station :)

You can also request that your mini-bar be stocked with only the items you like to consume,,,:)

Hi Mike

I mostly wanted to check that it was definitely diet coke and not pepsi like it was on our transatlantic crossing in October. Being a good scot I can drink most of the alcohol, but I hate pepsi diet or otherwise :D

I am trying to get back to normal every day type stuff...it is hard after out MSC cruise and being waited on every day...c'est la vie! I have a cruise booked in a few weeks...so my after vacation blues are not so bad this time.:)

Enjoy the YC!

Is the gym that crowded early in the morning?

I cruise on Princess and they require the life jackets at the drills. Included are many reminders to not drag the straps on the ground.
